Featured Artist: Lee DeWyze

Lee DeWyze is this season's American Idol and is taking The Pavilion stage with other Top 10 American Idol Season 9 finalists Aug. 7 at 7:30 p.m. for the American Idol LIVE! Tour 2010. DeWyze auditioned for "American Idol" in 2009, set to live out his dream of becoming a music star. Lee grabbed the hearts of America early on and became a fan favorite and front-runner of the competition.

Lee DeWyzeBorn in Mount Prospect, Ill., DeWyze had a stroke of musical luck at the age of 17 when he was discovered by the independent music label MuLi Records in Chicago. He was offered a record contract on the spot and soon created the Lee DeWyze Band and released his first album, "So I'm Told," in 2007. He released a second album, "Slumberland," in 2010.

DeWyze's band continued playing local gigs and even performed at Chicago's House of Blues. He was a local celebrity, judging talent competitions, appearing on local radio stations and recording commercial jingles for Square One Organic baby foods. To support himself, he also worked as a paint store clerk. Even though DeWyze had gained recognition in his home town, he still wanted to reach national stardom.

In the final episode of "American Idol," DeWyze secured enough votes to beat the judge's choice, Crystal Bowersox, and received a valuable record contract. His current single is a cover of U2's "Beautiful Day," which he performed on the season finale of the show. His first album on the new label is set for release in Oct. 2010.

Hear DeWyze and the other American Idol Season 9 finalists at the American Idol LIVE! Tour 2010 Aug. 7 at The Pavilion. For more information and to buy tickets, click here.
