The Pavilion Launches New Web Site with a Contest
 by Emily Blount

The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion's Web site now has a refreshing new look! With a little online genius, the new site is a contemporary masterpiece.  Streamlined to a tee, all facets of the Web site are comprehensive and easy to use. The site features more videos and photos than ever before as well as links to The Pavilion's social networking sites.

Along with launching the site, The Pavilion is conducting a contest called "Launch It, Click It & Win It!" Hidden among the pages of the new Web site are answers to questions about The Pavilion. The grand prize winner receives free Dave Matthews tickets and dinner for two at Tommy Bahama, The Woodlands!

Here is how the contest works: A list of questions will be posted on the site, all of which can be answered from the new site. The first person to submit via email all correct answers to info@woodlandscenter.org wins the grand prize. There will be a drawing for three additional prizes from those who submit correct answers by July 30. Box seats to the Houston Symphony's The Planets - An HD Odyssey, lawn tickets for Kings of Leon and a four-pack of Children's Festival tickets are there for the taking.

Cool off this summer by surfing The Pavilion's improved, interactive Web site at www.woodlandscenter.org. Find the list of questions by clicking the "Launch It, Click It & Win It!" graphic on the left on the home page, submit your answers and you could win some great prizes!
Featured Artist: Robert Plant
 & the Band of Joy

Robert Plant & the Band of Joy take the stage at The Pavilion July 24 at 8 p.m. Plant's 13-city North American tour previews material from his new album, Band of Joy, set for release in September. The album features a diverse group of musicians including Patty Griffin, vocals; Darrell Scott, multi-instrumentalist; Byron House, bass; Marco Giovino, drums/percussion; and co-producer Buddy Miller, guitar/vocals.

Robert PlantFamous as the lead singer of classic rock group, Led Zeppelin, Plant has a distinctive voice and charismatic presence on stage. Led Zeppelin formed in 1968 and soon became one of the most successful rock bands in the history of music. After rockin' for 12 years, Led Zeppelin ended after the death of their drummer, John Bonham.

Plant continued performing as he began his solo career in 1982 with a style similar to that of his Zeppelin days. His additional solo albums include a wide range of musical styles such as psychedelic rock, roots blues, African music and traditional folk.

In 2007, Plant collaborated with bluegrass singer Alison Krauss on Raising Sand, which won six Grammy Awards including Album of the Year and Record of the Year.

Come enjoy the many sounds of Robert Plant July 24 at 8 p.m. at The Pavilion with special guest Bettye LaVette. Hear songs from Led Zeppelin, his later solo albums, his recent duet with Alison Krauss and his new album The Band of Joy.
