Rockapella Goes Retro at The Pavilion Sept. 3
Groove to the music of the '60s and '70s with the Houston Symphony's Rockapella Goes Retro with special guests Rockapella. Tickets are $15 for orchestra seating. Mezzanine and lawn seating are free courtesy of Woodforest National Bank and KMPG. Musical selections for the evening include songs such as "Here Comes the Sun," "Rock the Boat," "People Change," "Philadelphia Freedom," "Shambala" and "Dance with Me." Enjoy your favorite rock music a cappella style and be ready to party like a Rockapella star!
Come early and cool down with free ice cream for the irst 1,250 guests in the Fidelity Investments Plaza starting at 7 p.m. Stop by ThePavilion Partners Instrument Petting Zoo, sponsored by Music & Arts, and Partners arts and crafts. Woodlands Online, Amazing Siding, Woodforest National Bank and Audi of America, official automobile of The Pavilion also are on hand for activities in the plaza.

Tickets are $15 for orchestra-level seating. Free mezzanine and lawn seating courtsey of Woodforest National Bank and KPMG LLP.

Children's Festival is back with loads of fun! At the 14th Annual Children's Festival, The Pavilion is transformed into a giantplayground of fun for the young and young at heart. The eventtakes place Saturday, Nov. 14 from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. andSunday, Nov. 15 from 12 - 5 p.m. Tickets are $6 in advance or $8 at the door.
Award-winning children's performers educate and entertain thousands of children with a variety of performances. Each artist has a unique ability to delight and inspire children with programs that not only amuse, but also communicate positive messages.
Performers this year include: Billy Jonas, Kaminari Taiko of Houston and Mad Science's "Newton's Revenge 2." More performances will be announced soon. Billy Jonas is a re-percussionist specializing in family-oriented concerts in venues nation-wide. Kaminari Taiko mesmerizes audiences with its unique style of dynamic taiko performances inspired by the traditional values of Japanese art and propulsive world beat and rhythms. "Newton's Revenge 2" is a live stage show that awakens Sir Isacc Newton's brain after 300 years of sleep.
Festival activities include hands-on arts and crafts, games and more in our amusing creative zones. Costumed characters and mascots are on hand to roam the grounds and interact with children. The Healthy KidZone features demonstrations from martial artists and gymnasts as well as fitness and nutrition related activities. The Activity Tent features fun, hands-on activities organized by area businesses. The Arts Alley is a place where children learn about the elements of art through creative, interactive activities. Children's Festival tickets are $6 in advance or $8 at the door. Children age two and under are free. Picnics are welcome, but beverages can not be brought into the venue.
