Greetings!
This past month we have seen so much progress in our programs and have even added a few more! We were thrilled to have the opportunity to work with students at Hillsdale Elementary Schoool as part of the Warm Caps for Babies Program. And for extra excitement this month our director was interviewed in the studio at WCOJ as a guest of the Big Show hosted by Robert Henson. CCB is thankful to have had these opportunities to further communicate our vision.
Please enjoy our current newsletter! We have so much going on and we value your support of our organization.
We encourage you to forward this newsletter to others. We can only grow through the relationships that we build together. As you read below you will see how your support is making a difference.

Books Donated to West Chester Area Day Care Center
We recently were able to donate two cases of new books to the West Chester Area Day Care Center. We chose this day care center, because they are dedicated to serving at-risk children, minorities, and
families with limited incomes. As stated on their website, "The Center also collaborates with local
women's shelters, providing emergency assistance, transitional and
long-term care for children coping with domestic violence or
homelessness. Our warm, caring atmosphere help these children to feel
safe and secure during a difficult time."We were thrilled to provide books for the pre-K level children and to the older children that participate in the afterschool program. Not only did we provide books for the classrooms, but we also provided a book for each child to take home with them. CCB received a thank-you letter from the school stating, "The older children were absolutely delighted and eagerly came over to write their names in their very own book. The next day I heard many comments from parents about how much they enjoyed their new books! Some even brought them back because they wanted to keep reading them here!"In addition to the new books that we purchased, we also were able to provide the classrooms with many gently-used books that were donated by friends of CCB!Your donations are touching lives and are greatly appreciated!

Warm Caps for Babies Program Update
Our Warm Caps for Babies Program is a fast-moving program! We've had Knitting Events at the Spirit of Yoga in February and March. CCB has also been working with local youth organizations and schools to engage children in this outreach program. We have received so many beautiful baby caps over the past couple of months and are very excited to be packing up our first batch for distribution. These caps will be graciously received by an orphanage in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Our shipment will be leaving at the end of the month, so if you have any additional caps that you would like to donate, please get them to us by April 25th. Also, this orphanage serves infants and children up to the age 12. We would like to send some items for the older children as well. Please watch for a separate email with the specifics as to what is needed most. Please note that this is an ongoing program and will continue having knitting events, accepting donations of caps and distributing caps to those in need domestically and internationally. |
