Spotlight On Fundraising

ERU needs your support in its fundraising efforts.  In this Special Edition, we highlight  9 ways you can support ERU, including a number of ways that you can help without even spending a dime.  Please read on to see how you can help us help the eskies.
1.  Donate

The Eskie Rescuers United Annual Fund

The Eskie Rescuers United Annual Fund represents the cornerstone of our fundraising efforts. Through your generosity, we will be able to establish and maintain a predictable monthly level of available funds, which will allow ERU to help as many American Eskimo dogs as possible.

By joining the Annual Fund, you will be showing your commitment to helping Eskies in need through a recurring monthly donation in the amount of your choice. You can specify how your donation is used: medical care, senior dogs, special needs dogs, or to sponsor a specific dog.

Donations to the Annual Fund can also be made in memory of a loved one, or given as a gift donation. As always, 100% of your donation will go to the direct support of Eskies in ERU's care.

How to make your tax-deductible donation:
1.  Go to the ERU home page:  www.eskierescuers.org.

2.  On the left side of the screen, click on the Just Give donation link that looks like this:

3.  At the JustGive.org screen you should already see "Make a Donation to Eskie Rescuers United American Eskimo Dog Rescue" at the top of the screen.

 4.  Enter the amount of your donation in the appropriate field.

5.  Check the box that says "Make this a recurring donation."*

6.  If you wish, leave the boxes checked for Name, Email, and Mailing address so that ERU will be notified of your generosity!  If you prefer, you may also uncheck these boxes.

7.  Follow the remaining instructions on screen to specify how your gift will be used.

*If you cannot commit to a recurring donation at this time, a one-time donation will also be gratefully accepted!
For the sake of Eskies, support ERU by joining our Annual Fund!

6.  Buy Stamps

Buy ERU Eskie Stamps

Chris Bradsher (CO) designed a custom 44-cent postage stamp featuring Shelby, an ERU Eskie.  Shelby was an ERU owner-return when Chris first started volunteering.  Shelby was abused and it took forever for Chris to get her to calm down and join in with the family.  Shelby had lots of crazy tendencies and was very wary of new people but she's really come along and has turned out to be the biggest sweetheart!

The stamps are a little bit more than what you pay at the post office, but that extra money will come back to help ERU.  For every sheet of 20 stamps you purchase for $18.50,  $1.36 will be donated to ERU.  Here's the link to purchase the Shelby stamps from Zazzle:  www.zazzle.com/eru_postage_stamp-172007874006620090
7.  Order Business Cards

Order Your Business Cards through Zazzle

You can purchase ERU business cards at Zazzle.  To order, click on the link below and customize your own business card with your personal information.   An order of 100 business cards only costs $17.95 and ERU will get $2.69 for each order.  You can order business cards by going to:

It may seem like a small donation, but if everyone orders their business cards this way, it adds up fast!
8. Use Donation Vests

Use Eskie Donation Vests for Your ERU Foster

We have started making donation vests for our dogs to wear at rescue events they attend (and potentially even for walking around their own neighborhoods).  They look like little saddlebags made from colorful felt, with fabric paint used to advertise ERU.  We hope to have them make their debut in Baltimore on October 17th, with more sent down to the Paws in the Park event in Florida on November 1st.  After that we would like to continue making them as needed/requested by ERU volunteers.  If you are would like more information on obtaining donation vests for your ERU fosters, please email jenny.maggiore@gmail.com.
9.  Read Articles

Read Dog Rescue Articles

Volunteer Joyce Hoffman is the Philadelphia Dog Rescue writer for Examiner.com, an online local news web site that reaches over 100 cities.  Joyce is donating 100% of her profits for 2009 to ERU.  She is paid every time someone clicks on one of her articles - about 1 cent an article, however she receives bonus money whenever someone clicks on more than one of her articles in a visit.  You can sign up to receive email notifications every time she posts an article.  Follow this link to her Examiner home page:  Philly Dog Rescue Examiner

Examiner.com is offering a $50 referral fee, which Joyce is donating to ERU, for anyone she refers who becomes a writer for Examiner.com.  Examiner writers can be located anywhere, and write on every topic under the sun - restaurants, movies, tv, recreation, hobbies, etc.  If you would like to write for Examiner.com, contact Joyce at phillydogrescue@live.com so that she can provide you with her unique referral code and tell you how to apply.
