I was going through a very difficult time (getting adamantium in my bones, you know how it is) and I very honestly told God that I did not trust Him in all areas. I was unhappy with many of His choices and in some areas of my life it seemed that God had proven He could not be trusted. Before anyone goes on about how God can always be trusted and you have to try harder, wait longer, etc; I'm being very honest to make a point. I had to be real with God. I said 'Lord I'm having trouble believing all these crazy things You're telling me because all these other crazy things You told me turned out...well crazy, and still don't look like what You promised.' I said 'Lord, I'm hurt, I'm disappointed and I don't trust You. I need You to help me.'

Now there are people who will tell you that God won't help you unless you trust Him completely, and He can't send a miracle unless your faith is perfect. Some will try to tell you that God won't be good to you unless you believe He will be good to you. Well I can't accept that. I said God is good all by Himself. He is good because that's who He is, regardless of who I am. A god whose goodness depends upon my faith sounds like a New Age god - 'the universe that simply responds to energy and thought patterns.' I said no way; God is a sentient being, a Person who acts and thinks independently. He is good; that's His nature.

Sure enough God did help me. I called and He answered, even though my faith was weak and I didn't deserve His help. God's Beloved there are those who may bring condemnation; making you think you have to dot every i and cross every t in order to receive God's help. God doesn't demand that you be perfect; always behaving and believing and loving perfectly. God is good. He will not forsake you. He will not leave you as orphans. He will not turn a deaf ear to your cries for help. God kept loving me and being good to me because He is Love and He is good. God is trustworthy even if the problem is you don't trust Him. It is God who gives us faith, and He is strong when we are weak.
