In the movie Avatar the Na'vi people have an
expression "I see you." It means I see into you, I see your heart. I think that's a beautiful expression. We all want to be recognized. We want to feel understood by those we love. We want to be assured that we have a sense of another's heart for us. Well that is the cry of my heart. Let me see You Father. I want to see Your heart for me.
I experienced a situation where one of two things was true: either I had been greatly deceived, standing on a lie with misplaced faith; or God was leading me somewhere that seemed harmful and where I did not want to go. If my faith was misplaced how could I trust my ability to hear from God? If that really was God leading me into such a horrible situation, how could I trust His heart for me? I felt lost; unsure of God's plan and His heart for me.
God's Beloved I know that I'm not the only one who's been at such a crossroad. And truthfully none of us want to go into the fiery furnace or the lion's den. But God does sometimes lead us there, and we must have the courage to go in - knowing we don't go alone, and God can bring us out unharmed. And during times of deception, when it seems the enemy fooled us when we thought God was leading us - we are still not alone. Those seeking God won't remain deceived always.
I try to take communion everyday, and when I took communion it brought peace. When I break the bread that represents Jesus' body and drink the wine that represents His blood I see Him. I cannot deny the love of one who died for me. I see You Father. I see Your sacrifice. I see Your heart. I see Your love for me. I know that whatever You have for me will work for my good. Whether Your plan is to crucify my flesh or to bless me with my heart's desires I know that You are on my side. I know that You see me, and You are for me.
