Yesterday I shared that when we come up against opposition it's an opportunity for us to persevere and rise up as overcomers. When I was studying opposition in the Bible I thought about how God's people sometimes faced overwhelming opposition; trials that they couldn't overcome in their own strength; and those were the times when the glory of God showed up. In Numbers 16 I read about how Korah decided he'd be a better leader for the Israelites than Moses so he got a following of people who all confronted Moses, challenging his authority. First of all, Korah wasn't too bright or attentive since leading the Israelites was a rather difficult and thankless task, but more importantly when Korah and his followers brought opposition against Moses and Aaron the glory of the LORD appeared to everyone there. It was as if God said OK I have had enough, You are not going to mess with My children. I AM going to handle this personally.

There are times when we face opposition that seems to challenge everything in us, and when we rise to the challenge we discover we are capable of much more than we thought. And there are times when God shows up in a supernatural way. When God shows up it is glorious and He proves to everyone that He is indeed God. That's our God; He loves to save the day. So when you face opposition do everything that you can, and having done all stand, stand still and see the salvation of the LORD.
