If you're a hard core AM fan/follower you may know that I love a bargain and one of my passions is finding the cheapest gas price I can. Well once again I found myself running on fumes trying to get to the gas station where I usually get the best price. On the way I was stopped at a light and I looked to my right and saw a grocery store's gas station had gas for only $3.49, with a 3 cents discount using their store card. That seemed like an excellent price and I do have a store card. The light was red and I could have exited into the gas station...but I didn't. I decided to keep going to my favorite gas station but as I got nearer and nearer to it the gas prices were all much 
higher. I kept seeing $3.55 and up at neighboring stations so it didn't look good but I didn't give up faith yet. When I finally arrived at my station I was disappointed to see that the price was indeed $3.55. I was so angry at myself. I could have paid only $3.46 for gas and I missed that opportunity. That other gas station was long gone and far away and my tank's fumes were running out.
As I filled my tank I tried to rationalize how it worked for good. But I had regrets, thinking I missed the blessing God had tried to give me. After filling up I thought well at least I saved the 3 cents I always get using my gift card, but when I looked at my receipt I saw that I had been given a 10 cents discount for my gift card! I only paid $3.45 for gas, a penny cheaper than the lost opportunity I was mourning. In the many many years I've been going to these stations the discount has always been 3 cents, never 10. I was so touched at what my Father had done for me. I was so blessed by the lesson He taught me.
I had already asked God to lead me so I should have had faith that the Good Shepherd had led me to His best. I'm supposed to know that all things work for my good, because I love Him and I'm called according to His will. Regrets are not for God's people; that's for people caught up in the world, going their own way. Regrets are for people who don't love the Lord and don't have the assurance that no matter what happens to them it will somehow work out for their good.
God's Beloved we are right to repent for our sins, but we are wrong to sorrowfully mourn over what could have been. Maybe you're on a path and it looks like the road to that gas station; maybe it looks like your best days are behind you and the only choices you have left are undesirable. Well it ain't over until God says it's over. Absolutely nothing is too hard for God and He is perfecting everything that concerns His children. Trust that all things can still work out great and don't waste your time or energy on regrets.
