I planned to share a different message today but it turned into a series so I decided to save it for another time. Plus I was really blessed by a talented man I saw on TV this week. His story goes along with what we've been talking about this week and I'd really like to share it.
On a popular national talent show there was a man who was 36 years old and had been washing cars for 10 years. He'd never auditioned before for anything and no one took him seriously but when he opened his mouth and sang the crowd and judges went wild. Everyone was shocked. It was similar to Susan Boyle. One of the judges told him that his life would never be the same and the man just cried overcome with emotion. The door had just opened up for his dream to come true. I heard him say "I'm so blessed." He didn't even realize how good he was.
Earlier this week I shared that I dreamed I had a Ferrari but I kept it in a garage instead of driving it; which is comparable to wasting our God-given gifts. That's exactly what happened with this man. He had this great God-given gift that he hadn't been utilizing to the fullest.
And ironically he was washing cars in a garage. I love it. But I wouldn't judge the man. It's possible that all those years he spent washing cars were preparation. Maybe he was learning humility and perseverance during those years. Maybe he learned how to offer up a sacrifice of praise, as he probably sang while he washed cars. Regardless of his story, I pray you will have the courage, resources, opportunity, strength - or whatever it is you need to come out of your "garage" and see what your "Ferrari" can do.
Watch the amazing audition
