Recently I was studying the last supper in Mark 14 and it really blessed me. I've read and heard the passage many times, but what stood out this time was the way God had already prepared the details that could have been worrisome. The Passover feast was a big deal, and the ritual had to be executed according to Jewish customs. The disciples asked Jesus where they should go to make preparations and Jesus told them to go into the city and follow a man carrying a jar of water. Follow him home and ask about the guest room. Now you have to admit those are pretty strange and cryptic instructions. Imagine an important holiday is coming, and you've been in full time ministry so prep time is limited; you left your family so you can't expect them to provide. You're wondering what you're going to do and Jesus tells you to follow a stranger home and ask for the guest room. It sounds crazy but it worked. The disciples found everything happened just as Jesus said they would.

I was so blessed because Jesus had prepared for the need well in advance. God chose a large upper room for His precious disciples, He must have spoken to the owner of the house (maybe it was in a dream or a vision), and He knew how to lead the disciples to their provision. It's comforting that God had already set everything up so that what could have been a major problem turned out to be a minor detail. And right after I studied that passage God revealed some provision for me and it was clear that just as with the disciples He had prepared everyone involved well in advance. There have been many times when I was anxious and upset trying to figure out what to do only to find myself awed by God's provision and later apologizing for not trusting Him more. The whole world is at God's disposal. Often we're looking at whom and what we see and worried that it's not working out but God can use people we don't even know to bless us. The key is obedience. Your tax money might be in a fish's mouth. [Matt 17:27] Some may question whether the blessing is really yours but God's Word is greater than man's word. [Mark 11:2-6]

God's Beloved, I pray that you will trust that God has already anticipated and made provisions for your every need. I pray you will listen to His voice, and follow His instructions, so He can lead you to His very best.
