That prayer is actually a line from the prayer at the end of the movie The Book of Eli, but it has been so true for me. Some people will tell you that they've never doubted God and always stayed the course. Well that hasn't been my testimony. There were times when I was frustrated, and doubted, and wanted to give up, but it was God that kept me resolute during those times. One of the amazing things is God would use the very tools that I tried to use to escape Him to draw me closer to Him. There have been so many times I decided I'd watch a movie to "get away from it all" only to find that movie full of spiritual truth relevant to my situation. I remember when I wanted to give up because I felt like I'd failed too many times only to watch Meet the Robinsons; a movie that tells you to keep moving forward because the road to success is full of failures. I can't tell you how many times The Matrix has put me back on track when I was tempted to stray from God's Truth. And there was the time when I decided to quit "for real" and watched The Book of Eli. I don't want to spoil the movie for you but that man had so many obstacles to overcome, and he did it with God's help. I was so convicted and motivated to finish my race. I can't even recommend the movie because of cursing and violence, but God knew how to speak to me.

It hasn't always been movies, but God has always ministered to me when I felt like giving up. I can't take any credit for persevering because it was the Holy Spirit that has kept me resolute. It was God who guided me and gave me signs along the way. It was Jesus who reached down and grabbed me every time I was sinking. I can only encourage others because God encourages me. It is God who gives us faith; and we can't lose if we'll give everything to Him - even our doubts and failures and limitations. On my own I can't do it but with God I am more than a conqueror. Give God your doubts, your weariness, your lack of resolve; and watch Him do wonders with them.
