A Message from Anointed Messenger

Yesterday I shared that a basketball player, along with some of his teammates, was thrown out of a game when he reacted negatively to a foul from the opposing team. Well I learned a little more about that game. The player who fouled the other was on the losing team. It was late in the game and it seemed apparent that his team wasn't going to win; so out of frustration and desperation the losing team was fouling the winning team. I understand this is a pretty common strategy. When teams know they are losing, they result to desperate measures. Those with nothing left to lose don't play fair. Again I thought about the Kingdom of God.

We believers have an opponent who is already defeated. The outcome of this battle has already been established - we win. [Rev 20] Our opponent knows there's nothing he can do to overcome us with skill or power; greater is the One in us than with him. So what's his strategy - to foul us, to discourage us from playing, to get us so angry/hurt/distracted that we take ourselves out of the game. He wants to keep us from playing our best game. He wants to trick us into leaving a winning team. He can't best us with his power; he can only try to influence us not to use the power God gave us. A wise man said that we shouldn't engage the enemy unless the Lord instructs us to. Just because he's standing there shaking his fist doesn't mean we have to fight him. Often it's just a ploy designed to distract us. We need to keep our eyes focused on Jesus, to stay in the game and fight the good fight of faith. Our task is not to engage evil but to display God's goodness, for we overcome evil with good. [Rom 12:21

In that basketball game the fouled player was ejected from the game but his team still won. God's team is going to win, regardless of who's left. Will you still be in the game when it's all said and done? Which team will you be on?

[And I am distracted] at the noise of the enemy, because of the oppression and threats of the wicked; for they would cast trouble upon me, and in wrath they persecute me.

Psalm 55:3 AMP

Then the cares and anxieties of the world and distractions of the age, and the pleasure and delight and false glamour and deceitfulness of riches, and the craving and passionate desire for other things creep in and choke and suffocate the Word, and it becomes fruitless.

Mark 4:19 AMP

You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised.

Hebrews 10:36 NIV

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.

2 Timothy 4:7 NIV
