Journal Excerpt from last year Fri 3/5/10
That really blessed me. [A friend] called me and prayed for me. She prayed exactly what I needed to hear. I didn't tell her the whole story; that would take a lifetime anyway. I told her that the enemy had shown me someone who went through something I feared and it brought anxiety and discouragement. She prayed a great prayer and then we talked a little. She reminded me of a message/experience God reminded me of recently. The enemy often tries to show you an image of your defeat when you are about to obey God. Right
before I moved to Houston I met my neighbor [from across the street] and she moved to Dallas [which is also in Texas and north of Houston]. She was all excited and full of hope but returned a month later with an evil report. [She said] It was awful there. They have giant roaches and her son was afraid of them. She lost all that money she spent in moving expenses but said she didn't care because it was so bad there. That certainly gave me a horrible image which inspired fear. But I knew God called me to Houston so I went. I thought, I won't have that testimony.
------------
God's Beloved, what actually happened when I moved to Houston is not the point. You'll read more about that in upcoming messages and books. The point is whenever you're about to obey God, or experience victory, or cause damage to the kingdom of darkness, the enemy will often show you someone failing at what God has asked you to do. The enemy knows how to tap into your darkest fears. his goal is to scare you out of God's will. I pray that you will not succumb to his scare tactics. I pray that you will trust God and His perfect love for you, because perfect love casts out fear. [1 John 4:18]
