Recently I had some trouble with my computer. A well-meaning friend initiated scans of my computer that ended up tying up my pc for several hours. The check disk program kept running and once it started I couldn't stop it. It wouldn't respond to the normal commands that stop/bypass the process so it kept running the same scans over and over. It was very frustrating as I helplessly watched the endless loops of analysis that kept me from using my computer. Nor could I enter the safe mode of my computer; whenever I tried that it just crashed. Finally I was able to start up with the last known configuration that worked. I knew if I could just get in Windows, then I'd be able to restore my computer back to a point before all the trouble began. When you restore your pc to an earlier point, it's like everything that occurred after that point never happened. You don't lose memory, but you lose changes to your system.

Well God showed me an analogy to another situation. God gave me a promise, and He filled me with so much hope, confirmation, and encouragement that I was fully persuaded that what He said would come to pass, and I was looking forward to it. I was in the zone - full of hope and joy, unmovable, unshakeable, and walking in great faith. But just as my computer was tampered with, circumstances tampered with my faith. Like my pc I got caught up in time wasting analysis. Well if what God said was true then why did such and such happen? How could this work out? Etc, etc, etc.

God's Beloved when God speaks to us and circumstances don't match what He said we can get caught up in attempts to analyze the situation that get us nowhere. Just as those disk scans kept me out of Windows, imaginations can keep us out of the presence of God. We need to get in His presence and let Him restore us, and get back to that point where we are fully persuaded in His good plan for us. Just as my computer crashed in safe mode we can't afford to play it safe. We have to step out of the boat, into the deep waters and believe with our whole hearts that God's Word is true. I pray that you will be fully persuaded that God is not only able, but He's willing; and you'll be better off because you trusted Him.
