Journal Excerpt Mon 12/13/10

I woke up before the alarm went off at 9:30 but I didn't get out of bed until the alarm sounded. When it went off it was loud and jarring and disturbed my peaceful existence. I thought about how I had the chance to get up before it went off and wished I'd taken advantage of it. I thought about how it's often the same with God also. When He first calls us or warns us about something it's often gentle, but if we don't heed the first nudging the call usually becomes more alarming and disruptive. God may place in your spirit that you need to leave your job, but if you don't listen to that still small voice you may ultimately get fired - far more disruptive. Lord help me heed Your voice when You first speak to me.
