Greetings!
Wow!! This is my 5th consecutive year for my traditional "Ides of March" e-newsletter issue. It continues to amaze me how each year I am able to create a connection between Caesar's demise and technology for businesses. Enjoy this article and take advantage of the insights in it and the other articles or tidbits in this month's e-newsletter. |
"Beware the Ides of March"
It's that time of year again to recall my "friend" Julius Caesar. He was THE Roman Citizen until his untimely death on March 15th in 44 B.C. Caesar scoffed at the seer who warned him about the Ides of March because he was still alive on that day. Well, he was no longer Rome's First Citizen on the 16th of March.
What does this story tell us and what does it really have to do with computers and technology?
Technology is a key component of small and medium-sized business (SMB) success. Frequently clients, prospects and colleagues will hear me say "Sustaining and building the business is the critical element and technology is one of the critical drivers to ensure that success. It is not technology driving the business. Technology supports and fosters the goals of any size business whether it's 20 or 100 people. As our CMIT Solutions CEO, Jeff Connally, put it "In many cases technology is essential to the business, second only to talented and knowledgeable employees."
So, it is wise and prudent to listen to the guidance of those who know. In these challenging times which are also times of opportunity and creativity, it is recommended that the business owner/decision maker realize and comprehend that the "proper use of computer systems enables business owners to streamline processes, improve employee productivity, and maintain competitiveness in an evolving business landscape."
CMIT Solutions consults and works with all businesses to harness, take advantage of and maximize existing technology (hardware, software along with a stable infrastructure) in a proactive and preventative stance so our clients can avoid their own "Ides of March" disaster. This proactive stance allows the business owner to move the business forward, increase needed productivity and efficiency and know that the business technology is managed and monitored all the time.
If you, a colleague or a client of yours are interested in discussing or reviewing or creating your company's technology and disaster recovery plans, please call us at 303.756.2648. The CMIT Solutions Denver team has tools at its disposal as well as a slew of questions that will help in formulating/revising your Best Practices plan in case -- just in case -- you need to ever implement it.
