Celebrating the ReStore

Dear Friends,

If you haven't yet been to the Habitat for Humanity ReStore on Aprill Drive in Ann Arbor, you are missing out! If you are currently one of our customers, then you already know...the ReStore is a fantastic resource!

The Habitat ReStore sells reusable and surplus building materials to the public at an affordable price. This keeps usable material out of landfills while generating valuable revenue that helps us renovate homes for more families in our community. This year alone, our ReStore has diverted more than 170 tons of materials from landfills. Much of the ReStore's inventory comes from local businesses. For example, Big George's Home Appliance Mart donates customers' used appliances to the ReStore, which means a reliable inventory flow for us, and a voice for their great philanthropic priorities. We also need individuals like you to make tax-deductible donations to the ReStore and directly make a difference in families' lives.

Need more convincing? We are having a party for the ReStore's 4th Birthday... and you are invited!! Come by and see what we are about during this one-day sale. See the article below for more details, and click here for the ReStore's hours and location.

Happy Shopping!

Local company MAVDevelopment is sponsoring a Habitat for Humanity home here in Washtenaw County for the third consecutive year! This year, they are contributing to the revitalization efforts in the Nancy Park neighborhood in Ypsilanti by sponsoring 1190 Hull Avenue.  MAVDevelopment's Chairman Michael Vlasic is very glad to be such an integral part of the solution to affordable housing in our community, "We believe that the strength of a community comes from within. It grows from its people, its organizations and its businesses. That is why our MAVDevelopment team is committed to working with Habitat for Humanity. It is intensely gratifying and encouraging to see the positive spirit and shared dedication to improving one family's life and the future of the entire community. This is what makes communities strong."

We are proud of our continued partnership with MAVDevelopment! They have become an integral part of the solution to affordable housing here in Washtenaw County, and we are grateful for their generosity and support.

Habitat Heroes
ReStore Volunteers Commerce Square Volunteers

The Commerce Square Young Adult Program of the Washtenaw Intermediate School District (WISD) has been an outstanding volunteer group at the Habitat ReStore.  These regular volunteers have been supporting our store consistently for the past three years.  Twice a week these young adults join us with smiles and energy, to help clean donations and merchandise.  This group plays an integral part in keeping our store clean and tidy.  A staff person from WISD describes volunteering as providing students with wonderful real-world experiences, a great sense of pride and accomplishment in their abilities, and a facet to showcase their different strengths.  The Habitat ReStore is very grateful for Jeremy, Kevin O, Matthew, Anthony, and Kevin. We applaud their excellent work and are thankful for their volunteering!
