DUCTZ and Habitat Form New Partnership |

We have formed a new partnership in our community with a
leading HVAC cleaning business, DUCTZ!
DUCTZ is a highly professional and community-minded HVAC cleaning
business. DUCTZ professionals are
industry-leading advocates for applying stringent indoor air quality standards
to HVAC systems. Through superior air duct cleaning and HVAC restoration, DUCTZ
improves indoor air quality by helping to bring HVAC systems back to their peak
efficiency, leaving families with cleaner air to breathe. Our local DUCTZ has generously donated HVAC
cleaning services for two of our new Habitat families, and plans to donate
their services for our remaining families through March 2010! DUCTZ was also a sponsor of our big fundraiser
in April and filled a table their wonderful team members!
A BIG thanks to DUCTZ!
We are thrilled about this new partnership and look forward to providing
clean air to our families for years to come.

Thrivent Kick-Off and Fundraiser Underway!
Completing our four-year agreement with Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, the Burrell family will work alongside local Lutherans this summer to complete our only new construction project. We will "blitz" six days that next week then go to a Thursday-Saturday build that will continue through July. To support the financial needs of the project, congregations have organized Dining To Donate on Wednesday, June 24, all three Applebee's locations in the area (Green Rd., Carpenter Rd. and Eisenhower Rd.) will donate 15% of your bill to Habitat. Just print out the attached flyer and present it on the 24th. Thank you for your support of Habitat!

| Dedications |
This spring was full of celebrations as we joined with three families to hold dedication ceremonies at their nearly completed homes. These three homes were renovated homes - a new direction that Habitat for Humanity of Huron Valley has taken to help reduce the number of vacant homes in neighborhoods in Washtenaw County. Brian Stewart, Ann Clouse, and their children Jordan, Tyler, and Elijah had a wonderful turnout of friends, family, volunteers, and sponsors at their dedication on March 29th at their home located at 113 Miles Street in Ypsilanti. MAVDevelopment was the lead sponsor for this home and had lots of support from other groups to complete the home. On April 19th we watched Manny Selemani, Fatuma Alinoti and their children Rose, Jo Jo, Ahinga, Kalenga, and Chloe cut the ribbon to their home at 2570 Bens Street in Ann Arbor. Although it was a little drizzly outside, the house was full of warmth, love, and laughter as friends toured the home. This home was sponsored by the Ann Arbor Christian Reformed Church.
Robin Lee and her son Delorean had a beautiful dedication ceremony on April 26th at their home at 117 Miles Street in Ypsilanti as friends and family gathered together with volunteers from the University of Michigan Habitat Campus Chapter, who was the lead sponsoring group for the renovation.
All three families have completed their required 300 hours of sweat equity per adult family member and have moved into their homes. Congratulations to our new homeowners! |
