Quote of the Month When properly understood, synergy is the highest activity in all life. Synergy is the essence of principle-centered leadership. It is the essence of principle-centered parenting. It catalyzes, unifies, and unleashes the greatest powers within people.

Marketing & Publicity Classes for Under $20 with the A & B Training Bonus, Feb. 2009
During tough economic times it's important to get the most
value out of your marketing budget. As you solidify your marketing plan, it is wise to build an integrated marketing campaign that strategically utilizes both publicity and advertising.
Publicity and advertising offer different benefits that nicely counter balance each other. Advertising provides guaranteed placement, and complete control over
content. It also helps to maintain brand
recognition. However, it can get expensive. On the other hand, publicity provides you with a wide amount
of exposure for the least amount of money. Another important benefit of publicity is that it enhances your credibility, because stories reported by the media is perceived as having the media's endorsement. Publicity has longevity because it provides you with a permanent record. But with publicity, placement is never guaranteed, and you don't have control over final content. An effective campaign will reap the benefits of both, and strategically plan advertising around a strong publicity platform.
Building stronger relationships with your existing customer
base is also a good marketing practice during uncertain times. One of the ways businesses are increasing customer loyalty is through the use of social media. As internet usage continues to skyrocket, businesses need to get on the technological wave, or they will be at a disadvantage in the future.
Thousands and
thousands of businesses are utilizing social networking sites like FaceBook or LinkedIn to connect with customers. Blogging & micro-blogging sites are another way
people are building their networks, and creating customer loyalty. Businesses are also strengthening relationships by establishing email lists, and sending out regular e-newsletters. Develop a dynamic communication plan that shares your expertise, and offers
useful, relevant information. Customers do not want hype. Engage your clients, and create mutually beneficial relationships. Build community and let your clients know that you care about them. This will create a win-win scenario, and turn your clients into lifelong customers.
TESTIMONIALS This class took me from zero to sixty with a great overview and in- depth details about marketing & publicity. --John Cassel, Johnston Cassel Design Studio
Thank
you Mary, for your enthusiasm & thorough knowledge of your subject
matter. I learned a lot. You make learning fun! --Nancy Hart, Sing to the Animals
