| Gross Catholic High School |
Greetings!
"Faith is required for God's work to be done." This simple phrase was included in my pastor's homily a few weeks ago as he shared his reflections on the Sunday readings. Simple words that have stayed with me as I reflect on the hope and promise of the 2012-2013 school year. There is no question that our work here at Gross Catholic is God's work and our mission is inspired by faith. According to our mission, we are "a faith and family based community committed to developing Christian leaders through educational excellence in the Marianist tradition." We are supported in this mission by our parents, alumni, and community, and we are blessed with the gift of our students that have been entrusted to our care. In moving forward, it is ultimately our faith that will guide and sustain us. And it is our faith that will bring us success in our work.
As we open our doors this August, we especially welcome those who are joining our Cougar family and we assure you that this will now be your home. Also, our best wishes are with those who have left Gross Catholic to continue their life's journey down a different path. You remain in our thoughts and prayers and are reminded that this will forever be your home and you are always welcome.
Yes, the start of the new school year is met with much excitement and anticipation. We look forward to the future and believe, "Faith is required for God's work to be done". And so, we begin . . . .
Sincerely, Dr. Dorothy A. Ostrowski President |

As the summer days shorten and start to fade into fall, a new school year approaches. With great anticipation, educators and students begin to consider the change a new year brings. It is a fresh start with new goals and plans to achieve those goals. Some of our students graduated to a different stage in their lives, no longer a high school student, but moving on to college and the future that holds so much promise. Some of our students step through the doors of Gross Catholic for the first time as freshman. Both our graduating seniors and incoming freshmen face a great change in their lives.
As the new principal at Gross Catholic High School, I too face a change. I am leaving behind what is familiar and moving to an exciting new opportunity. Sometimes change no matter how positive can cause feelings of fear and anxiety. I look to Isaiah 41:13 to draw strength, "For I am the Lord, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you."
I am anxious to get started working with the staff and students at Gross Catholic High School, building on our traditions to propel us into the future.
Sincerely, John Schultz Principal |
