Greetings!
This collaborative effort of the Marianist Family focused our attention on the 40 least economically developed countries in the world. Thanks to the National Honor Society and Pastoral Council, each day during morning prayer, Gross Catholic students visited a different country through the first-hand experience of a person in that country. They learned about a specific social justice project that attempts to address the needs of health care and about some of the issues faced in international development. Members of NHS also created a bulletin board in the commons that highlighted the message of each day with a Bible quote, reflection or call to action. The board also featured a world map with flags on each country represented in the 40 day campaign. To support the social justice issue of a right to life on the local level, student and staff contributed to the Archdiocese of Omaha's Project Rachel which provides post-abortion healing and counseling for women. This project has helped us to live this Lent in solidarity and compassion with our Marianist Family. We are so appreciative of our National Honor Society and Pastoral Council for helping us prepare for the Easter season.
Sincerely, Beckie Cleveland President Read more about our Lenten Project at the Cougar Blog on our website. |
