21st Century Strategies for Healthy Teens

The Parent Awareness Coalition will present a program for teens and parents featuring Kimberly Haugen, PhD, LP, NCSP, Psychologist & Assistant Training Director for Boys Town Center for Behavioral Health and Natasha Robinson LCSW, LIMHP, LADC, Director of Chemical Use Program for Boys Town Center for Behavioral Health. All Catholic high school students and parents are invited.
The mission of the Omaha Catholic Parent Awareness Coalition is to communicate available resources to the families of our Catholic High Schools. The PAC Resource link "Parent Resources" provides direct access to websites from credible sources to the parent population. The intent is to support: open communication, educational information, and social awareness of resources available to parents, reflective of Catholic beliefs. Cougar Clergy
The Cougar Family is happy to have Fr. Frank Jindra '73 as the newly installed pastor of Sts. Peter & Paul and St. Anthony. Fr. Mike Eckley '83 returns to Omaha as the pastor of Pius X. They join Fr. Mark Bridgman '86 who serves as senior associate for St. Mary, Bellevue. We are blessed to have these Cougars so close to home.
Please continue to pray for Scott Schilmoeller '06 and Kyle Ginnaty '11 as they discern their call to the priesthood. Scott is a senior and Kyle is a newly matriculated freshman at St. John Vianney College Seminary. |

Wednesday, October 26 at 5:30 pm in Auditorium The Guidance Department will host a special program for senior parents during Parent-Teacher conferences about financing college. EducationQuest will provide information about financial aid and scholarship information.

Greater Omaha College Fair
Sunday, October 30
1:00 - 4:00 pm at UNO
All students and parents are encouraged to attend. At the fair, students and parents will be able to gather information and visit with representatives from over 200 colleges & universities throughout the United States. There will also be a general session on financial aid. Plan to attend - IT'S FREE! For a list of schools that are participating, see Mrs. Schow.

Registration deadline for the December 10 ACT is Friday, November 4. If a college-bound senior has not taken the ACT, this the test they should take. Register online. |

for representing Gross Catholic at Cornhusker Boys State and Cornhusker Girls State respectively in Lincoln last June. These nationally recognized programs provide young men and women the opportunity to learn about the fundamental principles of American government.

Driver Education
Mondays & Wednesdays Oct. 10-Nov. 2
3:05 - 5:35 pm
Students receive 25 hours of driver's education, 20 hours of classroom instruction and 3 - 5 hours of behind the wheel driving (during the school day). Successful completion of this course will qualify the student for a Provisional Operator's Permit (POP) and a Driver Education Insurance Certificate. Click here for the registration form. |

Girls Basketball Alumni Night
Saturday, December 10 at 6:00 pm
The girls' basketball program would like to invite all former basketball players to join us at Gross Catholic for our first alumni night. Come and check out the current Cougar cagers as they compete against Bennington and then stay for a social hosted by current and former coaches. We would like to recognize our alumni at half time and in particular acknowledge the state champion team of 1991. GEO Garden 
Anyone thinning out plants and would like to donate them to school, please bring them to school and place them by the gazebo with your name on them. I will get them planted.
