Cougars are Environmentally Conscious! |
The Gross Catholic Environmental Club recycled 25 lbs. of cans, 230 lbs. of plastic, 780 lbs. of paper, and 150 lbs. of glass in April!
The Environmental Club was recently honored with second place in Green Omaha Coalition's Grassroots competition and received $500 to use in the arboretum and to fund their future recycling projects.
Think Green Thought for the Month: 10,433 empty cans weigh as much as Shaq O'Neal.

Greetings!
As we wind down another school year, we are very thankful for the opportunity to educate and work with such wonderful students.
This year has been very successful. Some of the highlights include two state champions this year with our Volleyball team in the fall and our Journalism students this spring. We are also very proud of our seniors and all their accomplishments. This year's senior class has set a new school record with their scholarships to colleges and universities. Seventy percent of the class were awarded scholarships totaling over $6.45 million! We wish our seniors the best of luck as they continue their education.
As soon as school is out we will begin improving the west entrance. New doors and windows have been ordered and we are looking forward to the renovation of that area. As soon as that area is completed, we will begin planning for the renovation of the commons restrooms. We will begin that project as soon as we have the funds available. Because of the generosity of so many people, we have the money pledged and will remodel as soon as we can.
It is our pleasure to have worked with you this year, and we hope that our students and their families have a restful and relaxing break. We will be looking forward to your return in the fall.
Have a great summer!
