GEO Garden
fall leaves

We have planted another 500 flower bulbs, bringing our total to about 16,000.  We look forward to a beautiful spring show!

Anyone that is thinning out their plants may donate them to school by dropping them off at the office to the attention of Mr. Carey.

You may purchase bricks, trees, benches or a bird bath for the garden.  This is a nice way to honor someone you love.
Contact Rich Carey for more information.

recycle
We are teaming up with St. Bernadette school to recycle more plastic.  Since we began our recycling program, we have saved over 7,000 plastic bottles and 5,000 lbs of paper from ending up in a landfill.

The Gross Catholic Environmental Club reminds you to please do your part at home and encourage your family members to do the same at school and work.

Think Green Thought for the Month:  Americans use 2.5 million plastic bottles every hour and recycling one ton of plastic saves about 8 cubic yards of landfill.

Beckie 2008 Greetings!

As Thanksgiving approaches, we are reminded to count our blessings.  We are especially grateful for the support of our many alumni, families, and friends.  Without your support, we would not be able to offer the quality education our students receive.

We are acutely aware of the sacrifice families make to provide their child with a Catholic education.  They continue to make this commitment even as their own family expenses are rising.  We are doing our part by holding tuition increases to a minimum, yet still delivering a quality education.  The cost to educate a student at Gross Catholic is actually $1,135 more than this year's tuition.  We work very hard to raise the funds necessary to offer families even more assistance through academic scholarships, family discounts, and/or financial need awards.  This year, 70% of our students received additional help for a total of $850,000 with these types of tuition assistance.  We are only able to provide this assistance with your help.

We invite you to consider a gift to the Gross Catholic Annual Fund as you plan your charitable giving during this holiday season.  You may be able to give a larger gift by spreading your payments throughout the year.   Whatever you can share will provide our students with a quality education in the Marianist tradition.

Thank you for your commitment to education at Gross Catholic.  We wish you and your family a blessed holiday season!

Sincerely,
Beckie Cleveland
President

Reading Rants, featuring out of the ordinary booklists for teens, has become a popular book review source for teenagers as well as adults. Teens can respond to reviews and write their own on the interactive blog.

Named for someone's comment that finding a great web site is "delicious, like eating cherries," people can keep track of their "bookmarks," or "favorites," on Delicious, a social  bookmarking web service designed for storing, sharing, and discovering web bookmarks.  Delicious is one of the most popular social bookmarking services and has more than five million users and 150 million bookmarked URLs.  Its collective nature makes it possible to view bookmarks added by similar-minded users.  This is a great way for students to quickly keep track of the best sites they use on research projects.
