Recycle!
recycle
Did you know that Gross Catholic students recycle 80% of our paper, cans, and plastic bottles used here at school?

The Gross Catholic Environmental Club reminds you to please do your part at home and encourage your family members to do the same at school and work.

Think Green Thought for the Month:  One new can takes the same amount of energy to make as recycling about 25 cans.
Beckie 2008 Greetings!

As most of you know, Gross Catholic began our Continue the Vision Capital Campaign last fall.  This three-year effort seeks financial support to strengthen the school's endowment and complete several campus improvement projects that reflect the very elements that make a Gross Catholic education so valuable: excellent teaching, quality facilities and wide-ranging opportunities.

Through the generosity of our many supporters, the Continue the Vision campaign has raised nearly $600,000 in gifts and pledges through September 2009.  We are extremely grateful for the generosity of the Cougar family.  Thanks to our donors, Gross Catholic has been able to:
  • Complete construction of a competition level softball field with St. Bernadette Parish
  • Bolster the school's endowment fund with new endowed scholarships and additions to current scholarship funds
  • Plan for renovation of the West Entrance in the summer of 2010
As you know, even with the early success of our campaign, much remains to be accomplished.  With a $1.25 million campaign goal, we remain committed to raising additional funds that will address the following needs:
  • To ensure a stable financial future, we need to grow our endowment to offset tuition increases, allowing us to remain a viable Catholic education option.
  • The commons restrooms are 40 years old and need to be updated to more current, efficient standards.  These are used by our students, but also by visitors at various school activities.
  • To serve our school community in the best way possible, the Chaminade Chapel is in need of a general updating, which will include new carpet and paint.
  • Expansion of the technology maintenance center will provide adequate room to grow the technology program, better serve our students and staff, and accommodate student internships for laptop maintenance.
In order to accomplish these goals during the course of our three-year campaign, we will rely on the assistance of the entire Cougar family.  So many have worked so hard to make Gross Catholic what it is today.  We hope that when you are contacted, you will help us Continue the Vision.

God Bless,
