Dear Friends,,
On April 26, we enjoyed a wonderful evening with many of our parents, alumni, and friends. CeleBration 24 was our most successful fundraiser ever. I would like to thank our chair couples, Tim and Terri Burke, Bill and Cynthia Buettner, and Mike and Val Conzett for all their work and for all their support. Also, a huge thank you goes out to the women in our Development Office - Lynn Poly, Mikaela VanMoorleghem, Lori Szalewski and Julie Peterson - for all their work all year - but especially at this time of year. And of course, so many volunteers help us with Celebration. We could not accomplish so much without the help of so many supporters.
It has been a wonderful year for Gross Catholic and we are anticipating next year with great excitement. In the fall, we will begin to celebrate our 40th Anniversary. We are in the process of planning some very interesting and enjoyable things for next year. Our intention is to celebrate this event throughout the entire year with a number of activities involving all of our students, parents, and friends. Gross Catholic has been blessed during the forty years of our existence with the best students and families. We have been entrusted with the education of thousands of young people and we look forward to continuing that role for many years.
Finally, as we close out the 2007-2008 school year, our wish for you and your families is a safe and relaxing summer filled with good times and peace. See you in the fall.
God Bless,
Beckie Cleveland, President

Characteristics of Marianist Education
One of the Characteristics of Marianist Education is to Educate in Family Spirit. This is more than simply a slogan; Marianist family spirit is a way of life with specific traits that can be observed in the school community. By providing a climate of acceptance, discipline, and love, the school acts as a "second family," fostering human growth and maturity. All members of the school community share the responsibility to create and sustain an atmosphere of family spirit. Because we educate by "our every word, gesture, and look" we listen attentively and engage in dialogue with trust and empathy. By being available and open to others, we continue to make the gospel vibrant in the daily life of our schools.
Educating in the family spirit means that Gross Catholic graduates will:
- Honor the contributions and sacrifices of parents and other caregivers.
- Understand that the concept of "family" includes not only parents and siblings, but also members of the community at large.
- Value human dignity by demonstrating openness, respect, and integrity.

Arboretum News |
| Thanks to the Papio-Missouri NRD, we gave away several hundred packages of wildflower seeds and white pine tree seedlings free of charge. The tulips, daffodils, star magnolia and iris are in bloom. A walk through the garden will bring many new sights. If anyone is thinning out their garden and would like to donate plants to school, just put your plants in a box and leave at the office with your name and flower types. With graduation coming, you might want to commemorate your graduate with a memory brick in the garden for a $50 donation. Contact Mr. Rich Carey for more information. | |
