Proverbs 15:22:

Without consultation, plans are frustrated, but with many counselors they succeed.

Making Wise Decisions

What does the bible say about making major decisions like buying a home?

Let's look at the proverbs of Solomon son of David, King of Israel:

For attaining wisdom and discipline; for understanding words of insightto understand words of insight;  for acquiring a disciplined and prudent life, doing what is right and just and fair; for giving prudence to the simple, knowledge and discretion to the young - let the wise listen and add to their learning, and let the discerning get guidance - for understanding proverbs and parables, the sayings and riddles of the wise.

Good decisions require accurately processed information. Technology has made it relatively easy to gather information. Computers crunch data and give it to us in digestible bits, but the human mind must still analyze that data and make the decisions. Decision makers must understand complicated matters, but they also need God's perspective in deciding how to act. The book of Proverbs helps us do just that.

Because Solomon knew that leaders must make good decisions, he urged them to attain wisdom and mental discipline.
