Now Open in Chicago! Last Sunday, PrimeTime was invited to the grand opening of the Olympian Gym which is actually Couture's Extreme Gym in Lombard, Illinois. What a beautiful facility. Let me tell you, we're inside gyms day in and day out, nearly 24/7 and this is probably one of the nicest facilities in the Midwest. The gym has everything a MMA athlete needs featuring a great weight/cardio room, two full sized wrestling mats, heavy bags, speed bags and a regulation sized octagon cage.
Whats really great is they've spared no expense in providing some of the best instruction found in Chicagoland. You'll find WBO/WBC Champion Fres Oquendo, Five X Greco-Roman Wrestling Champion Eric Wetzel, Judo and JJ Instructor Tim Boling as well as 2X TKD national champion Tony Kimbraugh leading the list of top flight instructors.
Now here's the kicker for all you local guys looking to truly make it in the MMA fight world. In consecutive weeks the Olympian Center had visits from Randy Couture and Chris Lytle. How'd things go? Well, folks waited over 2 hours to see Randy Couture. There was actually a line sprawling around the building with fans and fighters of all ages waiting patiently to see 'The Natural'. The following weekend, there were a series of weekend seminars featuring Chris Lytle.
How was PrimeTime involved in all these festivities? Well, we were the only equipment & apparel manufacturer invited to the Couture Grand Opening and the place was just choc full of PrimeTime gear which flew out the door with every sign-up. Naturally, Chis Lytle , a PrimeTime fighter from way back, was found with our fight shorts and rash guards during the seminar weekend.
So we'd like to take a moment and thank all involved including Peter Becker and Tony Kimbrough as well as the staff at the Olympian Center. We appreciate!
