Contemporary Art Auction to Benefit (Red)
 
 
Some of the biggest stars of the Art World are teaming up to benefit HIV/AIDS relief programs in Africa.  Bono and Damien Hirst will host the Auction on Valentine's Day, seeking to raise $46mm for the Global Fund to eliminate AIDS in Africa.  The works in the show are extremely high end but the exhibition and auction are certain to be a highlight of the Winter Art Season.
 
 
Exhibition:  February 4-13 at Gagosian Gallery, 522 West 21st Street. 
 
 
Auction:  February 14 at Sotheby's, 1334 York Avenue.  Admission by ticket only.  Purchase catalogue.
 
 
Artists:  Jeff Koons, Andreas Gursky, Damien Hirst, Jasper Johns and Takashi Murakami are among the artists whose work will be sold.
