County Upgrades Records Management Software Ensuring Compliance
Stafford County Virginia is George Washington’s boyhood home and has been a crossroads for many important events and travelers in history. The county was established in 1664 and is looking forward to celebrating its 350th Anniversary. Reflecting the area’s technology-conducive environment, the county first adopted Infolinx SE in 2002 and has now upgraded to the true thin-client application, Infolinx WEB version 3.2.
Infolinx WEB is a feature-rich, enterprise class native web application, requiring only a contemporary web browser and is uniquely architected for the complete life-cycle management of physical records such as file folders and boxes.
Using Infolinx as the application of record for both files and boxes, multiple county departments including the County Attorney’s Office, Finance, Human Resources, Parks & Recreation, Treasurer’s Office, and many others, manage the exchange of records between their offices and the county’s records center. Adopting the Library of Virginia’s state-wide retention schedule housed within Infolinx, boxes are then dispositioned accurately and in timely fashion, freeing up valuable records center shelving space.
Available to new clients or those wishing to upgrade from previous versions, the 3.2 feature-set includes:
- A completely redesigned Web 2.0 interface with context-sensitive help, making extensive use of Ajax, and compatible with IE,
Firefox, and Chrome browsers
- New data manipulation tools including the introduction of range-based data fields, keyword-searching, and delete/undelete/expunge capability
- The introduction of Microsoft Reports supporting on-demand or scheduled out-of-process execution and delivery
- E-mail-based workflow notifications initiated by virtually any application action or data change
- Improved Request functionality
- Advanced support for Retention, Legal Holds, and Citation reference
- Deepened Security Model allowing for advanced data/functionality hybrid configuration
- Contemporary technical platform compatibility including support for Server 2008, SQL Server 2008, Oracle 11g, IIS 7.0 and ASP.NET 3.5
