Bureau of Reclamation Chooses Infolinx® Web to Manage Safety Files for Dams
Physical Tracking of Files Critical to Protecting American Public
Infolinx® System Solutions, a leading provider of enterprise physical records management software, announced the procurement of application enhancements by the Department of the Interior's Bureau of Reclamation (BoR), increasing the functionality of their enterprise physical records management application, Infolinx WEB. Faced with repeated corruption and deterioration of their antiquated Microsoft Access-based repository, BoR chose to migrate their Dam Safety file data into Infolinx WEB, providing uninterrupted data access while ensuring continuous data integrity.
Established in 1902, the Bureau of Reclamation is best known for the dams, powerplants, and canals it constructed in the 17 western states. These water projects led to homesteading and promoted the economic development of the West. Reclamation has constructed more than 600 dams and reservoirs including Hoover Dam on the Colorado River and Grand Coulee on the Columbia River.
The BoR is responsible for ensuring our dams do not create unacceptable risk to the public by monitoring, evaluating, and when appropriate, performing risk reduction modifications. In order to assist with meeting this responsibility, Infolinx Web's Record Management will help ensure the tracking of the physical dam safety files for the life cycle of these records.
