Here are some ways that we are
contributing to the environment.-
Compact storage (also known as high-density mobile
storage), reduce space
needs, which in turn can minimize a building's total volume and reduce
construction costs, as well as saving energy and reducing operating costs over the life of the building.
- Compact storage is a viable alternative to
traditional, fixed storage products, and green
in terms of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA)3. Spacesaver equipment has even
helped buildings earn points towards LEEDŽ Certification, the consensus-based
national standard developed by the U.S. Green Building Council to
support and validate green building, design, construction and operations.
-
Spacesaver Corporation has
implemented dozens of "green" measures including recycled water, powder-coat painting, lean
manufacturing, recycling, and brownout participation.
-
In the manufacturing process for all Spacesaver
mobile and shelving products domestic carbon steel is purchased. Both hot
rolled and cold rolled carbon steel
material are produced at the mills with 80% to 90% scrap or recycled material.
This percentage is comprised of approximately:
- 50%
post-consumer material and 50%
post-industrial supplements.
- Hamilton Sorters'
modular casework solutions utilize processes, designs and packaging to minimize
impact on our environment. Hamilton Sorter uses recycled materials to build its
products, is committed to refining its manufacturing processes to reduce waste
and scrap and continually improves methods to re-use and recycle. At the same
time it encourages employees, customers and suppliers to be environmentally
conscious.
