The Fuss About Protein

Have you ever wondered what all the "fuss" about getting enough protein is about?

Here is what you need to know. Every cell in your body contains protein and is made up of protein - in fact our bodies are made up of ¾ protein! This includes things like our bones, teeth, skin, cartilage and organs!

Protein also contains amino acids, which are the building blocks our bodies need for balancing sugar, maintaining proper weight and supporting the immune system.

There are several ways that you can incorporate protein into your diet. This can be done through eating meats, eggs, dairy, whole grains (like quinoa), greens, nuts, and seeds. There are also protein drinks made from either soy or whey that can be incorporated into your diet, which are beneficial if they come from a quality source and are free from fillers and additives.

DAILY PROTEIN FORMULA

Here is a formula you can use to figure out if you are getting enough protein in your diet:

 Weight ÷2.2 Kilograms ×.8=

Total grams of Protein Needed Per Day
