Are You Getting Enough Potassium?

mainarticle

You may not have ever thought about it, but potassium has some great benefits!

Potassium may decrease your chances of stroke, osteoporosis, and kidney stones from occurring within the body. Potassium is an important mineral used to help the cells, tissues and organs in the body function properly. It is also crucial for heart function and important for skeletal and smooth muscle contractions, which also makes it important for the digestive and muscular systems to work properly.

But did you know that Potassium is an electrolyte? Electrolytes are the substance in the body that conducts electricity (along with sodium, chloride, calcium, and magnesium).

In the hot summer sun, often our electrolytes get depleted which throws our body out of balance and can cause undue stress on the body.

So how do you make sure that you are getting enough Potassium? The daily recommendations for Potassium consumption is 4,700 mg per day, for both men and women. Heart, Kidney and arterial disorders generally indicate potassium deficiency.

Foods High In Potassium:

Lettuce 67%
Turnips 59%

Irish Potato 26%
Carrots 25%

When treating patients, Dr. Johnston is interested in many facets of the patient's health and symptoms. In order to treat the body as a whole, her focus is uncovering the root or underlying onset or condition and evaluating and treating the spine and/or extremities and multiple joints to restore nerve fiber healing by detecting and removing the interference.

Each patient is unique and should be treated accordingly and she will determine the best treatment plan and protocol for her patients.
Some of the techniques used by Dr. Johnston include Full Spine Diversified, Activator, Flexion/ Distraction, trigger point release, MRT.
