Tim Eatung SandwitchCelebrating  40 Years Today

The  Markko Vineyard  partnership  of  Tim Hubbard and Arnie Esterer began  forty years ago today     The dream then would not have survived  and grown without Tim Hubbard .  The work with Dr Frank  and Tim'  patience made possible the learning steps necessary to adapt the cultural practice to Lake  Erie's south shore .  Sometimes progress seemed slow but the vision became reality.  Thanks to all of you for your interest and support  and to the industry that shared knowledge, workers and equipment .

Green Vineyard Hedging                   "Terroir"
Part of the vision and dream for Markko Vineyard comes with the concept of terroir.  This concept sums up  a wines unique character which comes from conditions over things man cannot control .  Discovering a vineyard's terrior appear as each vintage reveals its character.  These include color, aroma, bouquet, body, tannins, complexities and overall balance.  Only grapes, year after year, from the same vineyard bring out these subtle variations.  These form the essence of estate bottled wines.  It does not make them better or great but tells a story to enjoy

Buds about to Break
With warm sunny days sap flows dripping from the vines and causing buds to swell.  Soon leaves pop out to begin the new vintage. And hope  returns with the signs of new life. As we move to green more organic viticulture let's share the bounty.  Thanks for all you comments and support.
Cheers
