EASIEST way for your money to stay within your community - BUY LOCAL! |
Keep money in the neighborhood! "For every $100 spent at a locally owned business, $45 goes back into the community -and our tax base. For every $100 spent at a chain store, only $14 comes back*"
That's not the only reason to buy local (for more check out the buy local campaign), but it certainly is a great one. For example, if you have bought a frame from us, it may have been one from Furst Brothers in Federal Hill, if you have used our slide processing services, the chemicals used to do the processing came from Hampstead, and if you have used the restroom in our store, you may have used various products from Odorite in Baltimore. And that's just a few.
Our workers are 100% Maryland workers and both live and work in and around Baltimore. We do hire students occasionally who do not live here year-round, but for the most part, they live here and spend their wages in local establishments like Atwater's, Greg's Bagels, and Uncle Wiggly's for lunch.
What does this all mean? Well for the most part, the bottom line is that the money stays here, whether it's our suppliers, our lunches or beers after work, movies at the Senator or the big one, taxes. MD state taxes may have gone up higher than we would like, but supposedly that means our city, our counties and our state will be improved by that money. Stretch your dollar instead of sending it into cyberspace!
