Hanukkah 2011

On Hanukkah we tell our children the story of a battle fought and won.
There are still some battles to be fought.
  • Israel is isolated in a Middle East in flux.  Iran presents the greatest threat, but former alliances, such as those with Turkey, Egypt, and Tunisia are now in question.
  • Americans are struggling for economic well-being on an uneven playing field.   Our Jewish communities are straining to meet the need.
  • Health care reform may be repealed, thus denying many Americans access to insurance coverage gained under this law, including mandated coverage for mammograms and other life-saving screening exams.
  • Women's lives are risked by religious exemptions that allow hospitals to refuse to give life-saving treatment if it involves abortion or emergency contraception.
  • Women are the target of anti-choice groups that want to go far beyond outlawing abortion.  They want to block women's access to birth control by eliminating contraceptive coverage in insurance plans.

Thank you for your support in building a brighter future for the next generations.

Joint Action Committee for Political Affairs (JACPAC) is the pro-Israel PAC with a domestic agenda. JACPAC helps elect candidates for the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives who support a strong United States-Israel relationship, reproductive choice, and separation of religion and state. In addition to providing financial support, JACPAC maintains an ongoing dialogue with those we help elect. The combination of campaign donations and advocacy yields billions of dollars in aid to Israel plus federal support for local Jewish institutions and programs. JACPAC promotes social policies consistent with the priorities of the American Jewish community and enlists its participation in advocacy with elected officials.
