PNR/AACR2 "Hybrid" Records
|
|
Recently, we have fielded some concerns regarding the "PNR-izing" of records namely because these records lack some pertinent information. We wanted to share with our subscribers the customizations that an academic law library of
note requested for the Provider Neutral Record (PNR) version of the "World
Trials Library."
These customizations will, essentially, bring the MARC
records back to their original AACR2Rev. format while giving the researcher the
copyright date from the print edition in the fixed field and the 260$c.
HERE ARE THE
CUSTOMIZATIONS:
Add 506
note: Full text available with subscription to HeinOnline World Trials Library.
Add 538
note: Mode of access: World Wide Web.
Add 490 1 Hein Online world trials
Add
830 0 HeinOnline World Trials Library (Series)
We are happy
to provide these customizations to any PNR-subscriber.

HeinOnline Selden Society/Legal Classics
|
|
We are happy to announce that the catalog records for HeinOnline's
Selden Society Publications and the History of English Law have been
cataloged as Provider-Neutral records and are ready for delivery!
We have fielded some concerns about this collection because
there are many titles which duplicate those titles in HeinOnline's Legal
Classics collection. Since these are Provider-Neutral records, we have
added the necessary information including the URL for HeinOnline's Legal
Classics collection.

If your library does not subscribe to HeinOnline's Legal
Classics Library or would prefer not to receive this additional information, we
can remove it for you before delivery if specified as a no-charge customization.

CassidyCat's Digital Law Librarysm
|
|
CassidyCat's Digital Law Library includes over 3,200 MARC21 records for FREE legal research websites for primary sources for all 50 states and federal agencies, sites for
Homeland Security, White House access, intellectual property law, criminal law, securities, and a host
of other topics!
Be sure your end-users are getting reliable, authentic, current and accessible hits from your OPAC with each search they place! Our JD/MLS staff members comb the internet for these sites so you can offer them to your end-users without spending your valuable time doing the research!
A few new additions to the collection:
www.data.gov, "a priority Open Government Initiative for President Obama's administration, Data.gov increases the ability of the public to easily find, download, and use datasets that are generated and held by the Federal Government."1
Sonia Sotomayor, The Law Library of Congress has made available on this page a collection of materials, most available for download, regarding Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor. Included are articles authored by the nominee, transcripts of her previous federal confirmation hearings, and links to web resources.
For an investment of only $1400 (that's approximately $.45 per record!!) and just $125 monthly for new records and URL-checking, you can add these valuable resources to your library's OPAC. If you opt for the Monthly Update Service you can be certain that these websites are updated when necessary. Each month we perform URL-checking to catch dead links and then locate
replacement websites and update the catalog records. The updated
records are distributed with new titles every month!
Contact us for sample records or for more information! Have a great website? Send it along for consideration!
