We Did It!

Congratulations Bartlesville, through your hard work and love for this community, the Bartlesville Regional United Way was able to reach and exceed their goal of $1.675 million and raised a little over $1.8 million with donations still coming in.

The 2010-11 campaign theme is "Pledge Today, Change Tomorrow" and that is exactly what this community has done. The generous pledges, donations and community fundraising will help fund 15 local United Way agencies and their programs, all of which will help change tomorrow.

Many thanks goes out to the Campaign Cabinet, led by Roger and Donna Skelly, Campaign Executive Officers (CEO's), co-chaired by Kelly Gilliland and Carmen Stanton, the promotions committee, chaired by Lisa Lytle, as well as the many volunteers who dedicated their time and efforts to make this community a better place.

Individual contributors from professionals and retirees along with local businesses hosting campaign fund drives is another key to United Way's success.

Thank you to all of the local businesses and agencies who participated in raising money for the campaign. Around 40 businesses and agencies participated. And a special thanks to ConocoPhillips and their employees who, through their hard work and dedication, exceeded their company goal by 31 percent. The company also provided a generous corporate donation which matched employee and retiree giving.

Thank you Bartlesville and again, congratulations, we did it!

The Bartlesville Regional United Way covers Washington, Nowata and parts of Osage counties and accepts contributions year round. One hundred percent of the dollars raised in our community stays in our community.

CEO Corner

A new campaign year is upon us and with it comes new and exciting challenges. The Bartlesville Regional United Way is always seeking eager volunteers to help us tackle those challenges. There are many events coming up in the future campaign season that your local United Way could benefit from your support. Please consider the time and commitment you may be able to offer for the 2011-12 campaign year. If interested, please contact us at the local United Way office, 918-336-1044.

Volunteers are needed for the 2011 Venture Grant Committee, (see description in above article). The Venture Grant Committee will help decide which local nonprofit agencies are trying to address unmet, critical needs in our community and need the support to help them achieve their goals to make this a better community.  If you would like to know more of what this committee does, please contact your local United Way office, 918-336-1044.

This year the Bartlesville Regional United Way Annual Meeting will be held in May. All who have given their time or financial support to the Bartlesville Regional United Way are welcome to come. This is a great opportunity for our board of directors and staff to thank the community for all that you do. More information to follow.

I hope to see you all at our Annual Meeting and I hope you all consider volunteering for your local United Way in 2011.
