ENEWS FROM YOUR LOCAL UNITED WAY
November 2010

Emily Call, Marice Wasemiller, Terri Dearman, Carmen Stanton

Greetings!

When you reach out a hand to one, you influence the condition of all.  As we begin the month of November, many hands in our community have reached out in the form of a contribution to the Bartlesville Regional United Way with the hope of influencing the condition of all through United Way funded programs.  We are truly blessed to have so many supportive organizations with employees who see the need in the community and answer the call to reach out a hand!

Our work is not done, it takes an entire community to create change.  If you have not contributed to United Way, please take a moment to consider.  A contribution of as little as $2.50 provides a child with food for the weekend.

-Michael Cole, Bartlesville Regional United Way Executive Director

Campaign Fun!

A huge thank you goes out to ConcoPhillips, ABB, SGS, 66 Federal Credit Union, Arvest Bank, RCB Bank, Jane Phillips Medical Center, Schlumberger and so many more businesses in our community that are in the midst of or finishing their pledge campaign. This is a time to have a little fun in name of raising money. Whether it is a golf scramble, flea market, chili lunch, or telethon, there has been no shortage of creativity when it comes to fundraising events this year.

Here are just a few of the activities thus far.  Send us your pictures so we can show the community what you are doing!

United Way Golf Tournament
The 2010 United Way Golf Tournament was another success this year. The tournament was held at the Adams Municipal golf course. This year the tournament was expanded to six flights and raised just over $160,000. A special thanks to Randy John and the committee for putting on another successful golf tournament. Click here to view more golf scramble photos.

This years Bartlesville Regional United Way Campaign kicked-off with a breakfast rally at the new Hilton Garden Inn downtown. Around 150 community members and Day of Caring volunteers attended the breakfast to rally up some excitement for the 2010 United Way campaign. Afterwards, many Day of Caring volunteers picked up snacks and drinks and headed out into the community to work on their Day of Caring projects. That evening held a fun and relaxing Social Hour street party at 2 Sisters Pub and Grill. The beautiful weather, music and relaxing atmosphere brought out many members from the community to the event. Bartlesville Regional United Way and YPB teamed up to host the Social Hour.
