Can You Feel the Heat?

Greetings!

The temperatures are rising!  Donations to our challenge match campaign, where your donation will be tripled, have raised outdoor temperatures all over the country. The Martin and Dewan families will match each and every donation between now and July 31st.  I ask your help to keep the heat rising.  We need to push the thermometer through the roof!

There is still time to become part of the Deacon Eddie and Jennie Martin and John and Sue Dewan "Triple Your Gift/Liberia Challenge Match"!  Both families will match your donations between now and July 31st.  Donate $1 and MHI/LMI will receive $3.  This is an opportunity for each of us to make a difference in the lives of those who have so little.  Just make sure to mark your donation "Liberia Challenge Match" when you mail your donation or donate online.  Our address is:

Photography Club begins at Liberia Mission!                           by  Mario Ruiz

Photography Club

John Monroe, a 6th grader, has expressed his passion for photography by beginning a Photography Club at our school, St. Anthony of Padua.  The announcement was made to the student body yesterday.  John became interested in photography last year when he was given access to donated digital cameras and training.  This year, several other students have expressed interest in photography and have joined John and me in photographic workshops on campus.  The club was solely John's idea, and demonstrates his initiative and leadership.  John's dream is to become a great photographer.  He hopes to earn extra income by photographing weddings in Liberia.  John says that not many people in Liberia are good with digital camera technology, so he believes that he would have an edge.  The club currently has more than 10 members, but only 2 small cameras.
