On Becoming Aware
Customer VisionPart of any successful forklift dealership is a well trained sales staff.  Even the experienced forklift buyer will want to have a consultation with one of our experts before the order is placed for a new lift.  He or she may not be aware of all the features available to make their equipment return the most on their investment.

One of the X's and O's when training a sales force is market awareness. We recently had another sales person (Jeff Eshelman) become Toyota Certified in competitive awareness.  He completed a factory sponsored, hands-on course comparing and contrasting our forklift to the other major brands in our market.  This not only helps us win more orders, it also helps the salesman transmit to the customer important features and benefits unique to Toyota.

Whether it is from the eyes of the operator, mechanic, or accountant, a trained salesperson will help you see how to get the best forklift fit for your application.  Please be sure to take advantage of this important benefit offered by our dealership.

Just Getting on a Forklift Unsafe? -   See How

Rental Department
Geritol for Production
Toyota ForkliftA good, dependable, well spec'd forklift rental lets you effectively handle sudden increases in demand, such as unforeseen growth, added production shifts or avoiding demurrage charges on late arriving deliveries [if you're rushing things through]. They can also serve as a replacement while another unit is in for repairs, or otherwise out of service. A rental might fill a temporary need, from a Taylor-Dunn stock chaser to perhaps a large forklift for an unusually big object or load.

Train the Trainer - Control Your Expenses
Reduce Your Exposure to Risk - July 24th
Forklift TraineeIt' the "right" thing to do, and it is the law.

Control your training costs by bringing it in house, with this training you or your employee will have the tools, information and sense of purpose to train all your operators now and into the future to maintain OSHA compliance.

Avoid paying fines for one of Minnesota's most commonly cited violations. Each person found not certified operating a forklift can cost you approximately $7000.00.

Toyota Forklift in Minnesota is preparing to present another all day class, designed for managers, supervisors, lead operators and safety directors who want to train their own employees in the safe operation of forklifts. Certificate of Completion issued.

No matter how you slice it, it isn't right. But in a tough economy and tougher job market employers are often requiring applicants to hold a forklift operators certification as a condition of employment. It's disturbing because the individual wasn't certified on the potential employers equipment or in their work environment. You can only see this prerequisite as a move to shift the cost of that training back to the individual.

Subsequently, with the aid and generosity of Toyota Material Handling, TLM is holding training classes for unemployed veterans at NO COST or obligation for our vets. After training the veteran will hold his or her certification card for forklift classes one through five.

We have already trained almost fifty vets this year, and will be working throughout the year to help as many as possible. Please if you know of a veteran that could use this in their job search put them in contact with us.

Registration can be done over the phone, or by watching our event calendar link found at the top of most of our website pages.

They have served us, we all should work to do something to show our gratitude.

The Impossible will Take a Little While
Hearding CatsWell after all, we are a company comprised of people, and of course people will make mistakes. We were fortunate enough Friday that a customer of ours took the time to point out a mistake we were involved in.

There is no Failure only Feedback
No FailureAll of us approach our work with a fair amount of responsibility. We bring to work with us each day all the strengths that we have to offer. Perhaps unknown to us however are the weaknesses we also bring. If we're lucky we hear about these and have an opportunity to improve on them, if we aren't so lucky at best it will take a lot longer to understand these shortcomings and overcome them. At worst we may never deal with them at all.

Warehousing Systems
Benefits with Going with the Flow
Pallet flowWith Pallet Flow Rack your storage can double or triple capacity compared to conventional pallet rack. If your company does a significant amount of pallet or carton order picking, pallet flow can save you time, warehouse space and money. If loaded from the back and unloaded from the front, Pallet Flow Systems are a First In First Out System, thus are capable of product rotation.

Pallet flow racking consists of two components: a rack structure and rails (that look like skate wheel) that support and move the pallets in the racking system. The rails are sloped from one end moving them down to the other end which is the exit side, allowing gravity to do all the work for you so that you don't have to. Each aisle rail has an integrated brake that gently slows the pallet as they move, keeping them from damaging other pallets or falling off the rack.

Would you like to hear more? Call Paul Brandes to set up a time to explore how pallet flow racking might improve things for you.
