Getting the job done
|
Distribution and manufacturing facilities can often have high ceilings. Located in the ceiling are lights, fans, heaters, plumbing and other fixtures. Many of these items require breakdown or planned maintenance. A common problem is: how do we get personnel up there to fix it? One tempting option is to grab the forklift. Some think a pallet on the forks makes a great work platform. This is, of course, big trouble. Even OSHA approved work platforms offer inherent risks. No forklift attachment can be used safely without the manufacture's approval and a corresponding data tag for the lift. I do not know of any forklift manufacturer that has issued approval of such a device. One safer, more efficient option is to use the right piece of equipment for the job. Consider talking to your Toyota Lift of MN sales representative. He can help you discover many options including those with manual or power drive. A single person can safely operate the right lift. This makes it not only safer, but more productive as well. After all, the operator is the most expensive part of material handling equipment. Treat your investment wisely.

American Warehouse Systems
Material Handling Equipment Relocation Services
| When distribution or manufacturing companies relocate their facilities how do they get all their material handling and storage equipment from the old building to the new one? American Warehouse Systems provides this service at reasonable prices to it's customers. From start to finish, we take all the planning and burden on ourselves so our customers can focus on other areas of the transition.
Recently one of our customers relocated a manufacturing facility from Menominee Falls, WI to Arden Hills, MN. When it came to move the material handling equipment including a large area of pallet racking, they turned to American Warehouse Systems. American Warehouse Systems was able to plan out and implement the relocation without the need to bring in additional moving companies. By overseeing the entire scope of the project we are better able to coordinate the schedule to limit down time or any other challenges, thus saving our clients a great deal of money and headache.

Why Common Sense Makes Cents
|
OSHA has a general duty clause which is summarized by Section 5 of the OSH act. It reads: Section 5(a)(1) of the OSH Act: (a) Each employer -- (1) shall furnish to each of his employees employment and a place of employment which are free from recognized hazards that are causing or are likely to cause death or serious physical harm to his employees; You think common sense would prevail in every workplace, that the safety of the employees there would take precedent over productivity or even profits. I would like to believe in most workplaces that is indeed the case, let's all hope it is in yours. Read More

This capability goes a long way towards not being rude to you the customer. Yes, at times we're going to ask a lot of questions and we might even insist you go find an answer.
