You Can't Afford To Walk
Can you or your staff afford to walk on errands through your facility, walk to go retrieve product to be shipped or moved? Think about it a moment, how many minutes a day is spent doing this, and truly what is the cost? Based on a two mile per hour walking speed, versus a six mile per hour traveling speed of a Taylor-Dunn Stock Chaser, and factoring in the employee cost of say $24.00 per hour, here are some numbers that might catch you off guard.

Design committed to metal
After much fanfare, hours of debate and hundreds of communications on the subject, our new decal or wrap design has been committed to metal. Working with our local Fastsign dealer [which came about by a chance encounter with one of our techs] the decals were applied to this year's first new vehicle. You might recall the debate and poll over which layout was best among a number which were submitted. The original intent was to apply the design to our dry trailer which is still uglier than sin. Due to budget constraints we opted to wait on the application there, but had the opportunity come up when a new van was needed.

Parts Department
The Myth: Parts is parts
The old adage "Parts is Parts" refers to the simplicity of the demands seen by the department. I feel it's because concerned and trained parts people make the process look too easy. It's the savvy technician that understands the value of working with an experienced parts person, knowing that the wrong part can be just as devastating to customer service as a faulty or incomplete repair. Parts people have to balance customer service to inventory responsibility daily, perhaps it's to their credit that those outside of parts see the work as "easy".
