You Can't Afford To Walk
Can you or your staff afford to walk on errands through your facility, walk to Stock chasergo retrieve product to be shipped or moved? Think about it a moment, how many minutes a day is spent doing this, and truly what is the cost?

Based on a two mile per hour walking speed, versus a six mile per hour traveling speed of a Taylor-Dunn Stock Chaser, and factoring in the employee cost of say $24.00 per hour, here are some numbers that might catch you off guard.

American Warehouse Systems
The ups and downs of supporting the war fighter
Over the last seven years, American Warehouse Systems has expanded theAfgan Delivery reach of our parent company, Toyota-Lift of Minnesota, far beyond their Toyota material handling area of primary responsibility (APR).  Not only do we do business everywhere in the continental US on a daily basis, we design and implement systems for our government and corporate clients globally. In fact, American Warehouse Systems does so much work for the Federal Government that we were #10 on the list of Minnesota Small Businesses earning Government contracts last year!

We have successfully completed material handling projects for both corporate and government clients  in Hawaii, Alaska, South America, the Caribbean, Africa, South East Asia, many European countries and more recently supporting our troops in the war zones in Iraq and Afghanistan.  Doing business outside the continental US can sometimes be tricky but we have very capable people that make sure everything arrives and is installed on schedule.
Vendor Spotlight: SPSS Vertical Lift Module
Look Up to a Vertical Storage System
No matter what the business or size of the operation, the need for effectiveVertical storage system storage solutions is almost always a concern. Whether for inventory, files, records, or raw materials, smart storage systems are in demand. Plant managers and business owners need to address a variety of concerns when considering the issue of storage, including efficiency, safety, space availability, security, quality, and productivity.

All of these issues have more and more companies looking up to a better storage solution - the SPSS Vertical Lift Module. This innovative automated vertical storage system offers a wealth of benefits in any manufacturing environment. The SPSS vertical storage system allows for maximum space utilization because it extends up, making efficient use of otherwise inaccessible warehouse space, saving around 85% of valuable floor space.

Compared to other automated storage and retrieval systems, the SPSS Vertical Lift Module is affordable, and can be realistically put to work for businesses of many different sizes and budgets.  For more information please contact your systems specialists at American Warehouse Systems.

Service Department
Design committed to metal
After much fanfare, hours of debate and hundreds of communications onVan Icon the subject, our new decal or wrap design has been committed to metal.

Working with our local Fastsign dealer [which came about by a chance encounter with one of our techs] the decals were applied to this year's first new vehicle.

You might recall the debate and poll over which layout was best among a number which were submitted. The original intent was to apply the design to our dry trailer which is still uglier than sin. Due to budget constraints we opted to wait on the application there, but had the opportunity come up when a new van was needed.

Parts Department
The Myth: Parts is parts
The old adage "Parts is Parts" refers to the simplicity of the demands seenPart by the department. I feel it's because concerned and trained parts people make the process look too easy. It's the savvy technician that understands the value of working with an experienced parts person, knowing that the wrong part can be just as devastating to customer service as a faulty or incomplete repair.

Parts people have to balance customer service to inventory responsibility daily, perhaps it's to their credit that those outside of parts see the work as "easy".
