Thank you for taking a moment to review our newsletter. We hope this and future offerings contain something you may find useful in your business.
Our goal is to provide more informational content than "sales" related material, however you'll likely find some specials here as an additional thanks for your time and support.
Throughout this publication you'll see links leading to either our blog or that of our AWS division. We hope you'll take a moment to subscribe to those and continue to receive either daily or weekly updates through your RSS reader.

Factor safety into your equipment ROI
| From Tom Andel chief editor of Material Handling Management magazine. After the nasty economic drought we've had for the last couple years, it's Tom Andel
 | heartening to hear that lift truck OEMs are not only expecting better times for themselves and their customers, but they're pumping out new product to prove it. In my last blog I told you about my visit to Toyota's Columbus, Indiana, manufacturing plant to both tour it and to witness the unveiling of the new Series 8 four-wheel AC electric. In his remarks during the ceremony, TMHU's president, Brett Wood, gave some numbers that indicated the economy was moving in the right direction. "At the beginning of this year industry analysts predicted a modest 3-10% growth in 2010, but industry is doing so well so far this year that our forecast and that of the industry has been revised to 26% growth this year," Wood told his audience of journalists. "We estimate the North American market will end up with more than 123,000 unit sales this year." |
Rental Department
Responsibilities with rentals
| Renting a lift truck comes with a number of responsibilities, some are even spelled out on stickers or decals on the unit itself. Duties such as daily servicing and cleaning, insurance, damage to the equipment or the tires, lubrication and more.
More important is the operator pre-shift inspection required by OSHA under regulation 1910.178.(q). The responsibility applies to your units as well as the rental we may have with you.
To see more about these requirements we ask you read more information by following this link.
Well August is suddenly upon us and summer is coming to an end . For all your last minute projects I have the rental equipment for your needs. From the walk behind pallet jacks to the larger pneumatics.
We offer quick delivery and pick up for rental equipment and repairs that must come into the shop. We offer short term and long term rentals to help getting your projects done.
In terms of buying a piece of equipment, renting is an excellent way to find out if that piece of equipment is right for your application.

Service Department A Good Service Van: Balancing Needs
| For decades the decision has been pretty easy, you either used the Ford E350 or you went with a Chevy 3500 cargo van. Sure there is a smattering of Dodge cargo vans and Dodge Sprinters out there, but all these vehicles run in the same theme, three quarter to one ton cargo vehicles powered by eight cylinder engines.
In our industry driven by the need to carry a large inventory of parts, air compressor, hose crimp machines, welders and tool boxes the decision seems pretty easy, that is unless you actually start to think about it.

Parts Department
Bah! Back orders and open orders
|
No one enjoys an order that can't be finalized, especially our parts people. I've said in the past the perfect parts call is one where you have the part or parts needed in stock, at the right price, and you ship or deliver the order the day it's placed. Well things don't always go that well ... Day in day out hundreds of orders are processed from start to finish on the first call by the customer. With computer systems, on line electronic part catalogs and good internal procedures we hold our own with excellent fill rates from stock and overall. That's the easy work. |
