What Is Fleet Management?
The pace at which the economy recovers can be frustrating at times.  It is important, however, to remember that we did not get here over night.  It is similar to gaining weight.  You do not just wake up fat one day; it is a life long journey to get there and even harder to get back.

With that in mind, your forklift fleet needs to be attended to daily as well.  There are companies out there promising a "quick fix" solution.  This typically involves the promise of attentive fleet management and sworn duties to prevent costly lift truck repairs.  They bill themselves as impartial third parties that are out for the fleet owners own good.  They are, however, promising something you have always had at Toyota Lift of Minnesota for free.

There are really two key ingredients in the recipe for successful fleet management.  The first is making sure you have supervised and trained operators.  When you own a high quality forklift it is very easy to trace a lot of repairs to misuse or abuse of machines. The second more subtle one is making sure your fleet is fresh.  While you may feel an older forklift may not owe you anything, think about what the carrying costs are.  When technicians average over $100 per hour, one service call with a few parts can easily equal 60 days of payment on a new machine lease.

Talk to your Toyota Lift of Minnesota account manager today about ways to improve your bottom line.  You do have to break some eggs to make a cake.  It may be to your benefit to invest in a few fresh forklifts in order to improve your bottom line.  Saving a dollar is equal to making one. Rental Department
More Equipment Added
Just to let everyone know at the end of this month we will be adding brandRear_Left_8FBCU.jpg new 8 series four wheel electrics to the rental fleet. They will be the model 8FBCU25 with 189FSV with side shifts. Their capacity is five thousand pounds.

Last month we added a new 15,500 lb pneumatic with a cab, which includes heater, wiper, and fan to keep you dry .  For your inventory needs I have order pickers and scissors lifts.

We offer quick delivery service for our rental equipment to supply your needs when you are down or short of equipment. We also offer quick delivery and pick up for your repairs that may come into our shop. For your larger warehouses, we offer the Taylor-Dunn line to get around with.  A big time saver. Any narrow aisle needs? We offer the Flexi which will operate in a seven foot aisle. For all your needs we have the equipment to rent.

Service Department
Yeah, warranty happens
Certainly, warranty is a marketing buzzword used in the sale of just about lemon.jpgany product; the word is thrown out as if it is some perfect blanket of protection to us the consumer. As consumers, we quickly take comfort that it is mentioned, even if we know that its application when called on is sometimes is less than desirable.

Yes, warranty happens, and as a dealership in service to our customers, we are the means by which warranty when called upon is managed or sought, and in some cases chased after.

Our role as a dealership is to be the go between in any matter involving a warranty. The easy bits happen under standard circumstances, when there is a certain failure within the hours or time limits defined by the original equipment manufacturer's warranty. The tougher parts are where we like to think we start to shine.

Parts Department
Shipping is no small matter
Many things are important in a parts call. How long did you have to wait on shippingTable.pngthe line, did the person you were speaking to understand what you needed, and did he accurately and at the right price get you the part or parts that you wanted? None of this matters a lick if you do not get the part.

Often overlooked is the person back at the shipping counter and his or her abilities and the role they play in getting your truck up and running. No one wants to receive a "carb gasket" in lieu of a "carburetor", nor will it go well when you receive your shipment only to find the binding has let loose and some of the things you expected are no longer in the box.

No, shipping is no small matter. You need the parts you ordered when you expect them or the entire transaction has become a failure. We understand that, and have preached to our shipping people for decades their importance to us and the customer. The unsung heroes in the sale you might call them.
