Greetings!

Thank you for taking a moment to review our newsletter. We hope this and future offerings contain something you may find useful in your business.

Our goal is to provide more informational content than "sales" related material, however you'll likely find some specials here as an additional thanks for your time and support.

Throughout this publication you'll see links leading to either our blog or that of our AWS division. We hope you'll take a moment to subscribe to those and continue to receive either daily or weekly updates through your RSS reader.

Sales Department
Trained to deal with your challenges
Toyota Lift of Minnesota takes pride in the knowledge and training of our sales staff.  They are able to offer a lot more than you can find by clicking on web pages.  Please consider the advantages of working with a professional if you are charged with material handling duties.  Their years of experience can be invaluable.

All sorts of challenges face the owner of forklifts.  Harsh operating environments, awkward loads, uneven floors and docks are just a few.  Ask your salesperson to recommend solutions to your problems.  Chances are they have seen something similar to it and can help.
Rental Department
Even More To Toyota: Aichi
The country's #1 lift truck Aichi Scissormanufacturer now offers scissor and boom lifts of unsurpassed quality and performance. Rent one at surprisingly affordable rates. Aichi is the only company in the world to offer scissor lifts with brushless AC motor technology for longer duty cycles, less maintenance time and faster traveling speeds-up to 1.5 times faster. Scissor lifts also feature 90-degree steering and optional, wheel-style control.

This is no auxiliary line, this is Toyota equipment, serious as a lead pipe. Call TLM today we'd welcome the opportunity to show you the differences between what you are renting now, and what we think you'd rather be renting. Aichi.
Service Department
Low cost, high reward
Of course we're a forklift dealership, and I'll make no Engageattempt to pretend I can speak from anything other than experience when it comes to anything human resource related, but I felt compelled to put something down as it does relate ultimately to customer service. This is an internal example of what we do in order to enhance and improve on our efforts towards optimum customer service.

Some years ago we started a process that did away with the annual "review" in favor of regular "engagement" meetings. The design of these meetings was for a two way dialog to happen, not simply me speaking at them, but giving them opportunity to speak at me.

Parts Department
Why are forklift tires important
And when should they be replaced?
Tire tearing
The first question is easy. Tires are essential for softening the ride your employee, equipment and product experiences. There is nothing else to absorb the shocks received as your lumbering machine makes its way across the shop floor or yard. The tire also has factors that involve safety, and for that reason there needs to be more care given to replacement, ignoring the often heard declaration of a tire's soundness from the customer "well they're still round and black".

Lets start with cushion tired lifts [rubber bonded to a steel band]. With a full load your average tire is carrying over 9600 pounds on the drive tires, and about 1300 pounds on the steer tires [lifted to a degree due to the load], the tires do this while your truck turns, stops and accelerates getting the load to and from points within your workplace. To do so safely it should be in the best condition possible while it lives through its wear life [anywhere from a thousand running hours or more dependent upon your floor conditions and use].

American Warehouse Systems
For New Technology in High Density Pallet Storage
401kAmerican Warehouse Systems has just finalized the details of a partnership with Power Automation Systems, a manufacturer that produces the next generation in high density pallet storage. We now are the exclusive provider of PAS to the US Federal Government and all it's agencies.  We are very honored to have been given the task to bring this new technology to our government clients.

PAS manufactures the PowerStor system. PowerStor is a close cousin to the fixed-aisle automated storage and retrieval systems with several important differences. PowerStor is denser storage, has considerably lower operating costs, utility costs as low as $.01/move, higher throughput than their cousin and did I mention for most layouts the cost is significantly less than the typical crane system!

PowerStor can be easily configured to fit in existing buildings as the aisle lengths and widths are not determined by a crane system. PowerStor was originally designed for the food industry so it operates in refrigerator and freezer facilities without issue. The whole system is made in the USA so if something should ever go wrong replacement parts are easily available, in addition, every pallet is easily accessible via a catwalk system which is impossible with the old fixed aisle systems. What is the downside to the PowerStor system? Well we've spent the last six months looking for it and we can't see one. If you would like literature on this exciting new product offering from American Warehouse Systems, please contact us at info@aw-systems.com or visit us at http://www.aw-systems.com/.
