A New Year Brings New Products

Spring is the time to begin anew.  That is exactly what Toyota has done
Some of our new inventory
New Showroom
with their new 8 series heart of the line 4 wheel electric forklifts that are currently available to order.  This new lift features both AC hydraulic and travel motors.  The reduction in maintenance and increase in performance is sure to be a great combination.

Also new to our dealership this year is the Flexi line of articulating forklifts.  The traditional 12 foot aisle can be shrunk to seven feet with this revolutionary product.  The versatility of unguided equipment and dock to rack capability make this unit the one truck for every need (almost).

Please take advantage of the knowledge our sales people have.  They can help design your warehouse and make suggestions that are sure to save you money.  Our dealership can bring a lot more to the table than an online "for sale" ad.  Whether it is new or used equipment, our people are ready to find out your needs and propose a solution.

Rental Department
Forklifts and more ready for the spring rush
8 Series
We maintain extensive equipment ready to help with any and all long term projects. All forklifts go through a close safety check and rigorous service inspection to make sure the equipment you rent comes to you in excellent condition.

We rent the following equipment:
  • Forklifts
  • Order Pickers
  • Reach Trucks
  • Hand and electric pallet jacks
  • Aerial platform vehicles
  • Stock chasers and personnel carriers

No matter how big or small the job is, our forklift rentals are built upon quality and a service record that cannot be matched. Whether you have a seasonal job, construction or temporary warehouse work, we're ready to assist you with your rental needs.

Why wait? We are standing by to assist you now.

Service Department
Good Equipment Means Safe, Efficient Repairs
We're quite fortunate at Toyota Lift of Minnesota to have a management team dedicated to keeping our shop equipped with some of the best equipment.

One piece is our ARI-Hetra Lift System. The forklift lifting system uses a
ARI Moved To Far Side
ARI-Hetra
ramp and contact pad with two HDML lifting posts to allow access to the underside of forklifts.  Preventive
maintenance, lubrication, inspection and parts replacement are made easier and safer with the lift truck raised. Let's face it, who wants to crawl around on the floor under a lift truck raised on jacks when you can stand erect and work under it?

Another primary reason TLM went with the ARI was its ability to be moved around to where it was needed. The lifting posts are incorporated into a mobile jack, letting our techs take the equipment wherever there is a flat surface and a need. In the photo to the right, the unit has been moved from its primary area over to one where it was more convenient for our technician.

Your repair needs to be accomplished in our shop safely, accurately and with the utmost efficiency in order to reduce your down time costs and inconvenience.

We recently posted a YouTube video of this on our channel.
See the lift in action here. It's only a bit more exciting than watching paint dry, but we like it.
Parts Department
And The New Information Age
Even a long time ago we were very good at retaining information. We wrote notes into part manuals, kept up to date phone and contact information, and most of us had a Rolodex chock full of cross references and other bits of vital data.

Rolodex
We became good at this out of our desire to be a service to our customers, and to our service department. I believe that you'll find little difference between any parts department anywhere. Parts folks are just good at retaining and retrieving data that aids them in their part of the lift truck repair process.

The technology today has certainly changed things, but on the whole the skills of a good parts person really haven't become so terribly different. Information is stored in a variety of different manners, and it's become easier to share that information.

From their own desktop computer, a Toyota Lift of Minnesota parts technician has
Parts Network
Parts Network
access to resources such as TMHU's electronic on line parts catalog or EPC [and yes even here we can still "write in" our notes], TMHU's Parts Information System provides information for Parts Managers and associates to access Parts news, bulletins, forms and marketing brochures. TIS also provides information on parts policies/procedures, price updates/changes and direct links to websites for Toyota and StarLift products. We also have our own server where we keep scanned parts and service manuals ready for quick access and faxing. Probably as close to our old Rolodex as it gets, TMHU's on line StarLift catalog has thousands of after market parts and cross reference information. This allows our ASE and Toyota certified technicians to repair any brand of lift truck.

Information is an intangible part of any forklift repair. Part departments everywhere work quietly behind the scenes making sure your unit sees as little downtime as possible. These same people continually embrace new methods and technology that aid them in their work, and in your best interest.

You can contact our parts people via email parts@toyotaequipment.com, or visit any of our part pages and find a link to our parts contact form
American Warehouse Systems
At Work All Over The World
Some of you may know that American Warehouse Systems supplies and installs more than just pallet rack.  Over this past year we have completed
401k
many interesting projects from the State of Washington, to Florida and even here in Minneapolis.  We have recently completed two mezzanine projects in Afghanistan, one in Kabul, the other at Bagram Air Force Base. Additionally we've recently completed yet another project in Italy.

401k
Our military friends at Fort Lewis in Tacoma, Washington, purchased a full system that included a mezzanine, modular office, material lift, a mobile aisle and some service counters. Along with the materials we supplied the installation and all electrical work necessary to get the system up and running.

Most of you know what a mezzanine looks like but have you seen one with a ball transfer floor? What is that? We covered the mezzanine deck with raised steel balls allowing personnel to move the fully loaded pallets without the assistance of a pallet jack.  Lockheed Martin also asked for some roller conveyor to move the pallets from the mezzanine floor to a staging area before loading the cargo planes. Pretty cool!

The Social Security Administration in Lee Summit, Missouri asked for help with an existing catwalk system. They have a multi-level shelving system for record storage that was in desperate need of repairs, so we were hired to repair the walking surface so they are able to access all your necessary records.

Back to the pallet rack... Most customers have what we call "selective rack" in their facilities, but the word pallet rack encompasses a full
401k
array of systems for storing pallets.  A soybean processing plant ordered a push back system that allows high density storage of full pallets and easy access to the pallets that didn't included modifications to their forklift.

An electronics distribution center in Minneapolis has been supplied with a simple carton flow system that allows organization of boxes and the ability to find and quickly pick items for shipping. Once a carton is removed the next carton moves into place and the employee can continue picking their orders.  This will improve efficiency in the warehouse and shorten leads times for shipping products to customers.

2009 was very interesting for us and 2010 promises to be even better.
