Notes to Myself
It's funny how we can place the worth or
value on many things but not on ourselves. We
notice the value of our homes, cars, income
and friends. We can tally up what we have and
what we don't have.
We notice who looks better than us or has
more of something we want. It's interesting
how we can judge our worth so superficially.
Do we truly know our own self worth?
For example, do you expect to be spoken to with a respectful tone of voice? Do you make time to take care of yourself...to make sure your needs are met? Do you put other people's needs before your own? In your relationships do you require that your feelings, needs are considered and met? Many of us stay in unhealthy relationships for far too long. Then when we finally do break up we mourn a relationship that never actually met our needs in the first place. We experience sadness and beat ourselves up over what we "could" have had, "if only" the person we were with changed and lived up to their potential. Not necessarily what they were doing but what they "could" have been. If we loved ourselves and knew our worth we would never permit anyone to treat us any less than special, kind, considerate and caring. We need to own our divine powers, our sacredness and really see how special and worthwhile we really are. If we had high expectations for ourselves than we wouldn't accept or expect anything less. So many of us are so loving, kind, generous, caring, beautiful inside and out and we don't even know it! We are such sacred beings. We strive to live balanced lives filled with love, happiness and peace. The only way we can have that is by creating relationships and situations that are authentic. Take a look at yourself and see how much you have to offer. Do not cringe at any mention of your worthiness. Look yourself in the eye (in the mirror) and practice some positive affirmations. Take time to connect with your inner child and see how he/she is feeling. Your inner child may be fearful, unsure, angry or sad. Your adult self may not be aware of where these emotions are stemming from. Your adult self may know that things are safe, but deep inside there might be an imbalance. Make time throughout the day to connect with your heart. Connect with your authentic feelings. It's important that we feel and own our feelings, rather than suppressing them for fear of upsetting someone or hurting their feelings. Check in with you solar plexus or stomach region. It is the area that is the seat of your emotions. It is where we hold in our feelings. It also represents power and control. Check in to see if you feel that you are in control of your life and feelings. Breathe through it. I have been working on my self worth issues for a while now. I see that how I feel about myself, how I allow others to treat me reflects my experiences in life. I am honoring my sacredness and divinity. I surround myself with loving, kind, positive people. I choose to honor my needs and make time for myself. I know that no one or nothing is anymore or less important than I am, so I am finding a balancing between the two. Our life is a journey and we grow and change day by day. Be gentle and loving to you. Know your worth and show honor to yourself in all situations. Check in often with your Higher Self to see if what is occurring is in alignment with you and if it is serving your highest good and greatest joy. And the day came when to remain tight in bud was more of a risk than it took to blossom... Many blessings, Stefanie |

Self Worth
Dear God/Goddess, all that is...I struggle
with knowing my worth. In my mind I know that
I am worthy but in my day to day actions I
allow others to treat me with a lack of
respect. I don't understand why I allow this
to happen. I know I deserve better yet I am
afraid of letting go of this relationship or
situation. I'm afraid there might not be
better out there. I'm comfortable and used to it.
I truly know in my heart of hearts that there is bigger and better out there for me. I am afraid that I will be in poverty. I am afraid that I will never find and experience true love. I am afraid that what I have will be taken away from me. I am afraid that perhaps there isn't a better job or career to suit me. I fear failure and the unknown. Please God/Goddess, and the Angels I know and love. Please shine your love and faith down upon me and remove all my fears and doubts. Show me my sacredness. Illumine my mind and heart with self worth. I give full permission to You to remove all of my fears, worries and doubts. Take the relationships that are not working in my life. Transform and transmute them all. I give permission. I surrender to the unknown. I trust that my holiness is enough to make me whole. I believe in myself. I believe in You. And so it is. Amen. |
